Whatever happened to that 3rd Party LS0tW Guzzle that had an april fools repaint of Omega Spreme?

I woulda bought that in a heartbeat.

Omega Spreem as the new opponent for Metrotitan seems garishly perfect. If Omega Supreme is the next Titan, let's get a vs 2-pack of Metrotitan and Spreem for the low low price of $500

If they could make a Studio Series Titan Class Devastator, here's a tip.

Look back at the Legion Class Devastator. Maybe it could give tips on how to transform each figure from construction machine to Robot to Devastator.

 

I'm not so sure, in all these years we had only a titan repaint, Grand Maximus, and it wasn't a very successful figure.

 

Hmmm. They haven't done a modern Christmas Maximus yet.

Kind of curious if Battlemasters may end up being the new Legends/Scouts. Like the CW target masters scouts/Legends.

If that's the case, I really hope they do saucer bumblebee from MTMTE in battlemaster but he has a fold out handle underneath to become the Skyboom shield. His Saucer mode is pretty much a shield anyway, and with how often he gets recolored, it'd make sense to do his because of all the others that share that cybertronian mode like Cliffjumper, and the other similars in the background in animated. Already figure they're probably going to do Megatron as the Requiem Blaster anyway, and maybe Wing Saber as the Star Saber Sword.

Sixknights in their gun modes could work too. Wonder who else may make the cut. Likely some kind of bayonet style triple changer that can do two or three weapon modes like an Axe shot gun to battle axe, or rifle to sword.

Titans move at too slow a sales pace for recolors. They may much much later. But not likely any time soon. Between their production cost and the MSRP, they don't move that fast until they're sold at a loss. So we only get 1 every 2 years.

It's not like the days of the supreme class where it was a 49.99-65.99 toy. Looking at Primus even, that's skyrocketed to over 99.99 USD. At that point, they don't move in high enough volume. Only in rare cases do they still move at high volume. Omega Supreme might be one of those cases. Even Trypticon is a rather slow mover. Though Devastator did really well, and likely Predaking will too. Fort Max and Metroplex didn't do bad either. But Trypticon seemingly has a massive backstock that's yet to move. So if Predaking flops, we might see the end of titan class after the next Omega Supreme one. So I wouldn't count on any major retailer repaints of those for at least 5-10 years. (Though black friday ones and cyber monday would be neat! But probably not likely yet. Market is too unsteady as yet for that though.)

Omega Supreme might be the exception to that if he sells well because of what'll likely have Micromaster interconnectivity/playset potential intertwined into it. But even that's iffy and depends on how well he sells.

I'm assuming on Omega Supreme. With everything they're doing with WFC. He seems like a strong contender because of the "Secret of Omega Supreme" episode as well as Omega Sentinel in "War Dawn." And for playset potential, train/rocket works, but the ark playset seems like the stronger seller to get an actual G1 ark to market and nod Animated.

Either way, Titan class isn't a strong enough seller for repaints. So those may end up becoming limited run Hascon kinds of things. Otherwise we would have already gotten the G2 Devastator at the least since he was the strongest seller of the size class. So far the best selling one in general has been Devastator and the TFTM unicron remold. But the unicron one was a limited run too. Though it sold out both times on Amazon, and may get a third run later.

So Metro titan and Grand max are unlikely for major retailer releases. Exclusives somehow maybe, and definitely possible for convention circuit kind of stuff where they can do a limited run. But with no worldwide aired toon presence, they don't have major retailer push. Even Omega Sentinel is iffy, but he has more presence because of being in the G1 toon, as well as having a history of being made because of TF Energon, plus if they do the Ark version of Omega Supreme, doing the Ultra Magnus animated ship version of Omega Sentinel could make sense.

Though Omega Supreme's more ark coloring fits to the TFTM ships too.

So who knows. But I think Titan class might be winding down after whatever the next release after Predaking is. Let it cool down some, then bring it back with the remaining recolors later somehow. Cause they do still have the Trypticon retool/recolor to do too.

I hope they keep titan class around though. There's some potential if they can get prices under control. But they might need to re-christen the size class name for an inbetween step between supreme class and titan class for some other random stuff later.

 

I'm worried if they don't do a Christmas Maximus now, Easter Unicron will initiate Primal acsension.

This might be something Hasbro can look into offering retailers, but I really don't know how much they'd bite. Walmart might if they think taking the sales hit on it would bring in enough consumers to buy more. I doubt Hasbro would take the production cost hit though. So Walmart is likely the only one that might try to get a Metro-Titan or Grand Max if they think it'd entice more consumers into the store to buy more. Possible for G2 devastator that way too. Or Omega Sentinel, but it really depends on how a first year exclusive for Black Friday does on if they do more. We are talking about potentially a 50-100 USD loss per unit sold.

Even Ollie's with Trypticon, someone somewhere is taking a profits hit, but is hoping on the return shopper or extra purchases made to make up for it.

That's the Mastermind Creations Guzzle, it is still in development/production of some kind... MMC can take awhile to get something out (oftentimes years).. He hasn't been cancelled or anything like that.. So should still come out as far as I am aware, hopefully sooner than later. They would be absolutely mad (in a bad way) not to make that Guzzle..

 

It was through TakaraTomy Mall thus if you were buying it from an online retailer outside of Japan you were more than likely paying a substantial markup which is a deterrent.

Make it a Target or Amazon exclusive or an SDCC exclusive and it has a chance at selling well.

 

I was mainly referring to the fact that it didn't make enough preorders to unlock the bonus pretender shell, it wasn't a good sign for me.

 

I severely doubt there will even be a titan class going forward. I wager Hasbro was not happy having to dump tens of thousands of units to discount retailers with Trypticon and Fort Max at a very minimal profit, if not a loss.

And with Hasbro deciding that a $20 deluxe price point is a good idea, it might not be long until lines are severely minimized.

 

HasLab is most likely the outlet for titans now, especially with the surprise success of the barge. They can very easily price discriminate.

 

Just thinking about Studio Series for the remaining Deluxes this year and the ones next year. We were told we would get 9 to 11 Deluxe for this year, and we got 6. Plus we are expecting up to 11 next year. From what we know, the remaining few for this year may be the Bumblebee Movie Characters whoever they are. Was told there would be like 4 characters. For the rest of everything else, this is the only list I can think of that would fit for Deluxes.
