Better how? Just curious. I like his stickers...but they do seem to put some people off. Not judging...just wondering why some don't care for them.

Heavens, no! :lol  I think you're getting your industries confused - this isn't a pop song you want blasting on every station you can find. These are PHYSICAL PRODUCTS that cost money to make. If they sell poorly, because Hasbro is essentially throwing darts and trying to hit every part of the board, then you DO LOSE MONEY.

You know what's a better use of their money? How about investing in a decent cartoon, with proper marketing and ads, to get an audience actually interested in the franchise? The movies are also more important than these.

The toy industry isn't what it was in the 80s. I don't think spamming cheap toys will benefit Hasbro all that much. If anything, this is an experiment to see how well their cheapest offerings do - if these succeed, you can count on cheaper Generations products that will come next (i.e. thinner plastic, less articulation, etc.). And why is that? Because Hasbro is a corporation looking to boost its profit and attract more investors - an easy way to accomplish this is to drastically lower your production costs by selling simpler products to your core customers. They've certainly reduced the quality of the Generations line before.

While there may be truth to Hasbro cutting costs, I don't think this has much to do with this.

This is about getting Hasbro products on the pegs and in front of people who are less likely to drop $10 on a Legend of $17 on a deluxe. I think it's as simple as that. Getting licensed product out there in multiple venues, at multiple price points.

    Agreed.
Speaking of getting these out there, has anyone reported finding them elsewhere in the country? I've checked a bunch of DG's and all they have are the old RtS Legends and Kreos.

Clearly, you don't have a clue as to the definition of the term anachronistic or you would realize how unecessary your comment is. The aim of my response was precisely to note the difference in 'historical' market context, which, if understood correctly, captures all the varying particulars you mention. Try again.

I finally found these at a Family Dollar in NW Houston. I also saw and passed on the larger (Alpha?) size Grimlock, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee figures.

I've been looking for these things for months...I'm convinced that I'm never going to find them.

Wait, the larger size is out as well?

    Argh.

Photos of the Alpha figures at retail would be newsworthy!

    Seriously??? Newsworthy?
@Deathy G1 bought one in Chambersburg PA, and I just picked up Grimlock from a Family Dollar in Hagerstown Maryland.

I’m willing to give these a chance...just need to see them in person. I think some of the other little guys I’ve gotten at DG are actually quite impressive for what they are.

Crap, I didn't realize the Alpha figures had not been spotted at US retail yet.

So I went back to the store, took a picture of them, and decided to add Grimlock, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee to my collection.

FYI Alpha figures cost $10.00, Bravo figures cost $5.75.

I found the larger Grimlock/Op/Meg today for 9.99 at Walgreens and the smaller Grimlock (which I needed) for 6.99...the other smaller ones I must have picked up late 2018 as I found out I already had them...
