I've seen wobbly wheels and paint errors.

the wobbly wheels are a big reason for me to wait and see what the competition does.
that, and the permanently "thumbs up" thumbs.

 

Look, it’s their first product. They’ve got a few things to learn from, but they’ve proven that they can at least make a product that’s looks fantastic. I’m sure that, given time, that’ll release a product that is able to satisfy the majority’s demands

If that's it, then I could live with it, my would be in bot mode 98%+ of the time, and depending on the severity, I could probably fix the paint. Honestly, the only thing that would sway me to cancel my order would be a widespread report of parts breaking out of package.

But seriously, they made a product to stand toe to toe with UT, which already dominated the market once with their Peru Kill (i can see reception has since somewhat shifted against the figure) and garnered supporters that chose their product over UT. Their design team is clearly young and talented, and as a first product it is already more capable than other startup products previously seen. Being told to cancel is not an anticipated move, but it will be an interesting journey to see how the team recovers from this move

Im never witnessed a PR rep suggest to cancel pre-orders before. What a stand up guy!

@fisherman - You Sir, have my respect! I appreciate your honesty. Would you please tell us what issues you are hearing about so we can make better decisions on if those issues bother us or not?

 

It needs to be stated... @fisherman and his company do not build these figures on their own, they contract with a factory for production. This is the factory cutting corners, not his company. Their design is fine, it's the quality of the final product that's the issue.

It’s also worth pointing out that fisherman himself has expressed concern over distribution and replacement parts availability overseas due to not having international distribution set up yet.

Perhaps his recommendation to cancel is based more on customer support availability, as I kinda get the impression theirs *willingness* to help dissatisfied customers vs the actual *ability* to help may be totally separate things.

I also applaud his honesty and approach, and would not at this point hold teething issues with manufacturing against them.

Just to add, I had very little interest in the figure itself and probably wouldn’t have bought it, however fisherman’s honestly and approach even now in the face of qc issues will certainly keep me watching for updates and future releases.

 

I'm not giving up hope just yet. It kind of sounds like the Spinout situation and people were able to come up with fixes to somewhat fix it. Maybe we'll be able to get this on the cheap and DIY it to respectability.

 

From the prototype to the final the plastic used was changed so the paint will stick to it better. The tradeoff is that the amazing seemingly indestructible video that was shown no longer applies. The alt mode now sports transparent windows. A new head is being made for later shipping.

 

‘Wobbly wheels’ as a QC issue? As in they move side to side a little too? Not exactly a big deal on what is a toy at the end of the day for me personally, and a removed calf piece isn’t anything to write home about either. Think I’ll stick with my pre-order if they’re the only issues.

 

the wobble is not just a little, I don't think I've ever seen a wobble like that outside matchbox cars with a bent axle.

QC issues reported I read on Weibo include paint issues, nubs issues, some screws can't be tightened resulting in loose joints, packaging issues (figure not packed neatly in box, looked like rushing to package, hands/head already fell off when opening the box). Don't get me wrong, I like this figure and that's why I am on this thread and keep checking. I like the design, when and if they fix the issues, I will jump in.

 

I LOVE Spinout. I'm still getting this guy. It's a display piece I'll fiddle with sometimes. It looks great. I'll probably never transform him anyhow. The calves are unfortunate, but it amazes me people are that frustrated by such a small detail.

What? People are cancelling? I am pretty sure a few pages back people are buying because there's a Company Rep here!!! LOL.

As I said, QC is numero uno, dos and tres. LOLOL.

 

I don't know whether to keep the preorder and test it out for myself or wait for a possibly updated release outside of China with the new head.
Props to fisherman, great PR and looks out for the customer more than pushing the product. Hope we get more info on QC issues.
