I think it's actually just a early sample. Some of them had blue and others didn't. Then again I haven't even seen any of the voyagers at stores yet myself so this is just what I'm being told.

I'm probably gonna bust out the metallic dark blue and flat cherry Red when I get mine to do details like the blue arrows on forearms, red on bottom of forearms, blue on the abs (of its missing) but not for flames though. It won't look right.

 

It's a custom painted one. The blue on the chest is more purple, and it's very noticeable that it's purple because it's blue paint over red plastic, but not enough layers to stop the red from bleeding through.

 

I find it amazing how the figures I look forward to the most are the ones that are meh/disappointing while I end up loving the ones that I didn't think I would. It was the case with Blackout and Grimlock and it's again the case with Megatron and Brawl. From every regard, Megatron looked amazing. In hand, the transformation is simple, the panels prone to popping off, the tabs loose and the vehicle mode impossible to align. Not to mention, the robot torso has a huge gap in the side and moving his side guns in tank mode cause the pegs to become undone... urgh. Brawl, on the other hand, is fantastic. Solid in both modes, the transformation is complex and uses some really ingenious tricks to get things done. For instance, the tank turret completely disappears into his arms and back. Despite having a ton of panels, they all have a place to peg in. Lastly, the reworked proportions really do give the albeit short-lived character justice.

So, Brawl is a definite recommend. Only pick up Megatron if you want a good representation of the character for display only.

Is there any chance we get an '07 movie version of Megatron in the Studio Series?

I haven't been able to follow the news too closely lately.

 

There's no news stating as such, but Studio Series is supposed to be a continuous toyline ala Generations, so there's always room for him in future waves.

 

No news about that yet. As someone who wants a complete 07 movie cast I would like that, but as someone who finds it to be one of my least favorite Megatron designs I can wait a while for it.

 

I'd be surprised if we never got him, but no word as of yet.

 

I swear I read somewhere that Hasbro hates the 07 movie design and that they wouldn’t used it again BUT I’m not sure.

Well it is pretty terrible, IMO. Only bot design from the original movie that I dislike. Proportions are bad, jet mode doesn't look like much of anything, and it's overly complex to no end. The face was the only thing that worked for me, which is good that they kept it for the next two movies.

 

SMH, Movie 1 Megatron was an awesome design. he looked very bad ass, sign me up for any MPM or SS figure for that design.

Best I can tell, it's always been this way. Products made in China and Taiwan generally show up in Asia and Australia weeks before they make it stateside. I think we're just more conscious of it now because more fans in that part of the world are sharing their purchases online.

 

That was fast. SS32 new Op, SS Barricade and Sideswipe are bought on sight.
