Actually, done correctly a silver drybrush over the grey plastic could make it look darker by contrast and give it a more metallic shine without needing to do a full repaint. I do something similar to AOE Galvatron, but abandoned it because, well, it was AOE Galvatron and I had a bunch of other customs I'd rather do.

Jazz gets no respect, man. That car shell hanging off his back is proof. Might still get him just since I haven't had a Jazz figure since 2007, but still, I wish they had done better. Maybe a 3P company will release a back shell that folds up more? They've already showed they can make Grimlock and Blackout way better with upgrade kits.

Lockdown. God damn I need that Lockdown NOW. He's almost as tall as Brawl! That's crazy. In a good way. Scaling these figures is a really clever way to ensure that I buy fucking ALL of them. Or at least most of them. Only way I'll let these go is if the eventual MPMs are way better.

 

Exactly. I mean, if I wanted my Last Knight Megs to be shinier instead of the gritty metal I was going for, then I would have brushed him more. Grey base plastic is a gift when you want your plastic robot to look like a metal one. Look what Hasbro did with dark grey base plastic and a very sloppy not so dry brushing of SS Grimlock.

Damn these are good. Nice to see that Lockdown's backpack isn't as extreme as Jazz's. The shape of it actually looks like a literal backpack.  

Megs and Brawl are tasty. I think the turret kibble on Brawl's arms would bother me more if he didn't already have big weapons on them. (though I really don't know why so many pics of him put the weapons in his hands. The pegs are right there!)

 

Man, Lockdown is such a huge want. He's just such a badass mofo, they did such a wonderful job on him.

Have we seen a pic yet showing if Megs' face can be covered up somehow in tank mode?

 

So much awesome... I'm going to have to focus on the Decepticons just so I don't bankrupt myself buying everything, but I am looking forward to this whole line.

 

We haven't seen it properly, but there's like a black cage that's clearly supposed to go over it. But, y'know, official photos never get it right.  

I'm surprised by the amount of Decepticon/bad guy love we're getting form HasTak. More than half of SS is 'Cons.

I'm so glad the headlights and face on Lockdown were changed. That just makes him near perfect to me, and makes me think HTT really listen.

 

Ugh, I know, right? It triggers me to no end. The face is just sitting right out there in alt. mode, I hope that black cage covers it well enough.
