I feel like it's cool they're using original cast members and big stars now, but it still just feels very flat and amateurish... needs better writing, and a better voice director... bring in a clone of Wally Burr.

 

As much as it will probably suck it's an animated series with Overlord and Optimus Primal. I gotta support the obscure characters.

 

It's probably gonna be Eukaris or they'll go the Beast Machines and have a disgusting organic cybertron.

 

Rodimus Cron? I thought it was supposed to be Nemesis Hot Rod.

I thought they were finally using the series to market a figure that's been recently released, i.e. giving us motivation to buy Rodimus Unicronus (they could've at least called him that).

My point is, it's not up to you to validate The Beast for Hasbro to acknowledge it. If they chose to ignore it, they have that right as it is their IP. You can hop and scream and point t at The Beast all day...but if Hasbro doesn't want to acknowledge it, it's their property at the end of the day.

But for the sake of argument, let's say they were to say "first time in animation". That would cause fans to look up The Beast and validate the comic book it showed up in. Hasbro obviously would rather it stayed invalidated

 

I hardly consider the Beast a combiner. If I'll cut PoTP Dinobot toys to parts and then use it for building a bigger humanoid figure the resulting bigger figure isn't a combiner.

 

I have no problems with him as a person and I watch plenty of youtubers myself... it just feels super weird to see all these serious actor names and then next to them a youtube nickname.
It's like seeing Antony Hopkins next to Carrot Top in a movie's credits.   I wish he used his real name, like how Doug Walker or James Rolfe do.

 

At least the voice actors look like they're having fun.

Aside from maybe Greg, I can\'t remember the last time I\'ve seen voice actors so unenthusiastic about their work.

 

Hamill, IMO, would have been better suited to a Leigo Maximo and Perlman used for Megatronus. Bad casting choice and voice direction.

I did, hence I agree with him!   Seriously, what a giant mess. It reads like a bad fanfic. Barber took the Dreamwave joke of "Shockwave Did It" and thought it would be funny to make him responsible for the universe as we know it. It was clever, yes, but it was absolutely pointless and stupid.
The rest you are right about, though MTMTE and Lost Light started to become stale after the first few volumes, unfortunately. The two Wreckers specials are still awesome. We need Nick Roche to write more comics, dammit...

Kidding? People even made fun of it how Animated Optimus dies in the third episode already. Turning grey and all that. For like, a minute, then gets revived by Sari's key.   It was a hilarious tongue-in-cheek joke about the frequent deaths of Primes. People were joking how Animated Prime is so much of an Optimus, he could not wait until the end of the series to die, had to do it 3 episodes in.

 

There's always so much promise, but then you watch it and wished you hadn't.

The way Optimus was killed off was just ridiculous. Like it was a joke to kill him off just so there could be Optimus Primal. A prime going out like a vehicon in TF Prime.

So Megatronus is only there to revive Unicron. OOOOOHHHH Requiem Blaster!!!!

They tease and under-deliver.
