Lol not judging per se. Look at my profile pic, I get both. If Tak made a vastly superior version and I could afford it, I’d try and get it. The boxes for the LG headmasters were freaking awesome. I felt like a 5 yr old again when I got Ginrai just because of the presentation alone. But for cost reasons I usually had to settle for domestic releases. The unification doesn’t bother me so much, I guess time will tell if we benefit from it by being able to avoid the Blurr/Kup type of difference and get a solid stream of figures without having to “settle” for a less appealing Hasbro version.

But hey, you know those die hards I’m talking about. Not knockin, just sayin :)

I rather pay if Tak-Tom version have better paint apps. Rather than having different box layouts but the figure is exactly the same.

Better Paint Apps > Different Box Layout but same figure

But there still some people feels that having Takara Tomy logo slapped on the boxes makes the product "premium" or "prestige".
There are times that I felt this kind of mentality when goes out of hand, it's looks & feels crazy.
No offense of Tak-Tom worshipers here.

On the other side of the coin, this "Just put our Label on that item and make money from our die-hard loyalists" system is often abuse by the manufacturers. Well it's business. Then the quality of the item will be in question.
Basically, it's "Milking the Perception" of the consumer.

This happens all the time in every manufacturing industry.
Put that Label in that item. Then item instantly becomes a God.

Well if you have all the means and money to burn just to have a Tak-Tom labeled box variant but with the exact same item inside then go. But if you're not sure and prefers to be practical then stick to Hasbro's version.

It's just the same item anyways.

I now live in a comical time period where it's easier to track the Takara releases of MPMs as opposed to the domestic variant. I figure if I'm going to order online for a special series, why not up the ante? Get figures in boxes decorated in kanji like they're love letters to the heritage of Transformers

I can see your contentions through and through though, it's almost like the unification is an attempt to eradicate setting the products of the two companies apart

Yeah.. It's really happening now. Brand Unification.
Same exact item really saves production budget.

    The Effect? Elimination of Choices.

    The Victims? The Consumers.

Let's also not underestimate the effect this will have on online importers/exporters and ultimately Takara. Based on sales numbers and retailer feedback, I'm betting by the next mainline series Takara will no longer be releasing a unified product.

    Oh damn you! Haha
Seems the kanto orders are being shipped earlier.
I live pretty close to the Amazon fulfillment center here in Osaka but probably won't have the figure in hand until Sunday.

Paying more for the same figure in a different box? TT version is 65 USD on Amazon Japan and my AE order was the same. How much could the Hasbro version be had for when it was released? I didn't really pay attention as my AE order was locked in. Wasn't it around 80?

I ordered the TT cos I had TT 3 and 4, and at that time you could bet on the TT Barricade being different. It still might be if they keep the fully painted door wings shown on the prototype - remains to be seen. Even if the figures are the same moving forwards I'll still get the TTs just for box consistency! Plus, like I said in another thread, you're instantly 10x cooler and a true fan/better collector when you have Japanese on your boxes! :)  :)

Somewhere there's a collector in Japan who's proud of their imported Hasbro collection.
