Yes THANK YOU. I don’t know why some people just keep repeating “SS isn’t as good as MPS or MPMs” they’re totally different and meant for different things. Same with 3P stuff. I just think it’s great that hasbro is putting as much effort into the new movie toys as there should have been for years. For mainline figures they are great. Of COURSE they’re not gonna live up to MP or 3P levels, but they’re also way way cheaper and easier to produce and shit like UT Challenger not getting any news or updates for 4 months doesn’t happen.

For the most part, I think the movie stuff is way better done then Generations has. I'm still trying to pick up a few of the older HFTD line stuff, 3P movie figures have made it onto my want list, I plan on picking up some of the SS series figures but only a couple of POTP figures now and this is a person that hates the movies and the lazy/stupid TF designs. They're just better done then Generations has been; more interesting and some of the stupider design elements have been toned down due to size restraints.

All in all, a deluxe Stinger is perfectly fine. A voyager reshell of Wideload into Onslaught would be fine (unless they want to completely redo the figure and blow off the dumb movie design, which I'm totally down for). Hell, I want a retooled Nitro into Lugnut, Thunderwing and whoever else would be great out of these molds.

Generations toys are hollow and chunky and uninspired, I agree.

I like it, I want it but I probably won't buy it. I hate the two tone color deco, it drowns out a ton of the detail in the sculpt. I would totally buy it in G1 colors though, damn nice!

Eh? I thought the SS line is also joint collaboration between both companies, hence the TT logo on the front of the packaging.

We’re talking about everything but the figure that this thread is about.

A joint collab if you mean importing in the figures like POTP.

Also design & engineering for it too.
    Quote from TFwiki.net:

This is most likely due to the line being an official collaboration between Hasbro and TakaraTomy, much like the Movie Masterpiece Series line.

POTP doesn't have the TT logo on the packaging.

Just a comparison with that new official statue. The Black Mamba figure is really good in bot mode.

^ the chunky arms still throw me off on the Black Mamba version but it’s something I could get used to once I have the figure in hand. I mean there’s been plenty of miss sized bits on official releases for the sake of transformation that hasn’t stopped me yet, so I don’t think it will here either, especially after painted pics release. The biggest thing now will be timing. With UT going dark for now on their Prime, BM could easily sneak up and release theirs first encouraging people like myself to buy it.

Hope we get some colour pics soon, so they can compete with UT optimus’s coloured pics

If anyone just noticed, the chin is still far from the breast bone. ;)  I compared the pics.

I'd say BMB wins slightly in bot mode, UT wins by a mile in alt mode; but I expect UT to be the far more solid figure with a smoother transformation, based on Peru Kill.

Has Black Mamba produced any original designs before?

i don't expect black mamba to be far superior from UT one. from what i see, comparable, at most. but i expect BMB ones to have more affordable price, at least.

not yet, this is their first, i believe.
