I'm guessing the naming was based on one of two things, either when it was first used or a overall memorable scene.

    Just my assumption.

Dust can still get into the grooves between the pressing and the packaging of the product. I recommend having a dry cloth handy to dust the album (any album, new or used) before each play.

As for the vinyl revival, the reason many are abandoning CD format is because the vinyl format provides a more tactile experience in both physicality and presentation. It also is a loss-less format...the information of the waveform in digital form is basically snapshots linked together rather than continuous as in analog form. There are advantages to the CD format...greater dynamic range, portability and durability all trump the vinyl format. It all depends on what you value...something to have humming along in the background while out and about versus playing it in a quiet room with a nice sound system at home while looking at the artwork.

I reckon too it's peoples miss understanding of MP3's, a whole generation grew up with them, not understanding they were low quality. It's good now with most download sale sites they give you a option of what format you want.

True. But lossless downloads are still too massive for most folks' phones and devices. One album with near-vinyl quality files can take up 1 to 2 gigs unto themselves. But, like you said, if you're just listening to the music with earbuds on, you really won't notice a WHOLE lot of difference if you're playing MP3s or streaming off Youtube. That all changes when you start running the music through even a half-decent sound system or using higher quality headphones.

You yourself likely know this Jhaynes, but to anyone out there that does not - the pops and clicks indicate either the record is dirty/dusty, has static build up or the stylus needs a clean or replacing... Or the gear being used is just cheap and nasty. Steps one can take to reduce these imperfections is to (1) clean your records (literally wash them) when you get them - a spin-clean is very good, (2) use an anti-static brush before playing them and (3) occasionally clean the needle with isopropyl alcohol. I do all this myself and have records that were pressed in the 60's that still play back flawlessly.

Totally agree on these steps. So, since receiving this new album I've made a few transfers to mp3, the most recent followed a treatment with the Vinyl Styl kit and there is a marked improvement, fewer clicks and pops. Even newly pressed records can apparently need this cleaning right out of the box.

Picked the Megatron version up (£13 import fee payed). Bit of an extravagance especially without owning a record player. Would someone please PM me a link to a digital copy please? DSC_6794.jpg DSC_6795.jpg DSC_6796.jpg

This is where I read it
Robert J Walsh Remastering Transformers G1 Musical Scores

"I am working on the remastering now, and Hasbro and I are excited and looking forward to the releases of Transformers, G.I. Joe My Little Pony, series and movie, as well as Jem & the Holograms – starting around 1983 through 1988 or so. The original master tapes were in great condition, and I plan on remastering everything into 5.1 surround. We are not definite on this part yet, but may produce this in a boxed DVD set with newly filmed interviews of cast and crew and original artwork and some video footage. This is fairly large orchestra very well recorded with an MCI console in a European recording studio, and it’s sounding pretty spectacular so far. Sony Records will be releasing the albums."

Very disappointing that my favorite tracks from Season 3 are absent here.

Which tracks do you want? I really wanted to hear Ancient Wisdom, Investigation, and To the rescue.

I don't think so, I think the original idea was a DVD, but it looks like they are releasing a series of vinyl records.

Season 1 and 2 tracks have memorable & nostalgic kick on me.
    - S.O.S. Dinobots
    - Sherman Dam
    - Autobop
    - Trans-Europe Express
    - Aerial Assault
    - and too many of them.

While Season 3 tracks are amazing for me. Difference in music style clearly showed, it has touch of techno stuff going on.
    - Webworld
    - Ancient Wisdom
    - Call of the Primitives
    - Wreck N Rule
    - etc..

And GI Joe. Rob Walsh said both were coming. Meanwhile, is there any word on the Transformers repress? Expecting Grimlock, Starscream and maybe Jazz/Soundwave designs?
