Honestly, I feel this is an issue with the fact that the robot is too undersized when compared to the truck kibble. Like a kid wearing oversized clothes. The transformation has to be dramatically reengineered in order to get a robot big enough to fit within the truck. Following the movie transformation scheme would definitely be a step in the right direction. It's definitely possible. I don't doubt for a second we'll see that one day.

Honestly, the SS has the closest one. (transformation's scheme)

Trouble is CGI has separate models for vehicle and robot, so there's no actual scheme to copy.

    1) Vehicle transforms into first jumble of parts.
    *switch models*
    2) Second similar-but-different jumble of parts transform into robot.

And lots of bits from the first model don't actually match up to the second. Think TF Prime Arcee's wheels shrinking during transformation.

Since the movie models cheat so much, you'd need a toy that also cheats a lot to get the same look.

As for the athletic complaint - I really think that's a posing issue.
Tilt MPM-4 forward and retake the shot so you can see a bit more of his upper torso, and he'll look a lot closer to the movie shot than the standing-straight-up-and-shot-at-eye-level photo. MPM-4 has some great articulation that needs to be put to use. Give him an action pose, and he's ready for action. Pose him like a brick, he looks like a brick.

It is more like the SS.

Just that there must be a way to make the tire to compress in the lower leg instead of the upper one.

This thing is pretty damn amazing! I love that they got the flame sections on the abs and arms right, I'm sure I'll get this. Just a little butthurt that they didn't fix the visors or the bird mask.

IMO, those are more our nitpicks than something he should do just to do.

Well, except the visors, those need ball joints, (fine whithout them imo).

Now this does looks decent, but still.
