I don't mind paying extra for things like a mini Galvatron to pilot him or his Targetmaster, but the samurai parts that only maybe 10% of people that wants that crap is wasted money that could save us another $10-$15.

This hobby will always be pricey. But I try to shop around for both the best prices and service.

I'm just speculating here but is it possible this was intended to BE an IDW Cyclonus and with a few changes of this and that, it can double as a G1 figure? Sorta feels that way? Maybe I'm just tripping.

I will probably pick up Quietus from TaoBao for US$100 or so.
But the comparison price here is what it costs on release from major US stores. There are always cheaper ways to get any of these figures, and the exact same will apply to Quietus. The aim was to provide an apples to apples comparison, not an apples to discounted, aftermarket, 2nd hand oranges comparison. Quietus price from TCP or BBTS is perfectly in line with comparable figures, and substantially cheaper than some.

IDW is not crap! The problem here is that FT is aiming at two different customers... The G1 crowd and the IDW fans. So each side is going to complain, the geewunners will complain more because that is their nature...

If the reviews are good I will "bite"... If the figure has more ratchets than expected I will "bite twice"... :p

How hard would it be for them to offer an A and B purchase options and just have the corresponding extra parts in a separate baggie?

The price for FT Dinobots AT RELEASE was $200 at US retail shops (give or take $10)
The price for GCreations Ultra Maximus AT RELEASE was $165 at US retail shops (give or take $10)
The price for Generations Toys Op Ex AT RELEASE was $160 at US retail shops (give or take $10)
The price for KFC Ditka AT RELEASE was $150 at US retail shops (give or take $10)

The price for Quietus AT RELEASE is reported to be $165 at US retail shops (give or take $10)

My point is that the price for Quietus is perfectly in line with standard 3P prices.

And the MSRP for Eligos was $180. Using rational thinking, we can recognize that Quietus has a lower MSRP than its nearest competitor. And it is arguably a much nicer product, so if anything, MSRP to MSRP, it's more product for less cost. So responding to the price with "No thanks. Wow that’s expensive." demonstrates an ignorance of the context for that price. This is cheaper at MSRP, so it will likely also be cheaper than Eligos through other means as well. So if you don't shop at MSRP retailers to begin with, it makes no sense to complain about the MSRP, since the MSRP is cheaper than the MSRP for the other MP Cyclonus on the market, which means your Taobao or eBay price will also be cheaper than Eligos's was, @Gamerlingual .

I want the more Idw styled version, but being able to swap parts would be nice.

It’s not ignorance. Besides, are you only referring to retailers located in North America? How is showing Show Z’s price as ignorant?

I’m not labeling people anything. My point is there’s cheaper prices for people out there worldwide that doesn’t need to include eBay and Taobao.

I just like my women shorter than me. Not short but shorter than me. Weirdly it’s not a dominance thing.
