What was changed/improved for v2

 

So, far I have noticed:

Tighter tolerances/ratchets
Figure feels tighter/sturdier altoghether
Face color (seems like not all are affected)

Anyone else feel free to add or debate the following

 

I just bought this from Amazon JP. Amazing figure....it looks and feels awesome in hand.

Question: how can I tell if I have version 2 ?

 

If you just got it from amazon jp new it probably is. The first run sold out.

 

Hope someone can do a comparison. Mine just shipped a couple of hours ago. Estimated delivery is Wed.  

 

Got my reissue earlier today. Arrive at my PO Box yesterday but couldn't pick it up in time. I'll be honest, I did miss handling an official Megs. As others have said, the joints are tighter on him and I can confirm that the face color is more grey than the 1st release. If I can, I'm definitely getting another and keeping it MISB.

 

This guy looks awesome. I want the greener face though. Anyone want to trade for a V2 face?

 

Indeed he is. I haven't put him down since I came home.

 

I have a mint version 2 MP36 staandard face by Takara Tomy that I would like to swap for the Version 1 MP36 by Takara Tomy.
I know I"m crazy since the version 1 face is greener and not as accurate as the version 2 face.

If you have a version 1 face and you want to swap for a more accurate version 2 face let me know.

I'm open to trade or purchase.

 

Never thought of my first-run's face as particularly green, but then I don't have the reissue to compare it to.

It's been a year and I still haven't got tired or bored of this release in any way. He's so full of life, so much character, and so well-articulated that the only limit is your imagination. The only MP that will top this is v3 Prime with the same level of cartoon accuracy, articulation and accessories. Gonna have so much fun posing those two together, it's a dream come true.

 

Well if you don't notice it then we can trade   I know you're all about cartoon accuracy.

 

Heh, I don't want my Megatron to be faceless for any period of time   Also I plan on picking up a 2nd run at some point so I'll enjoy having the variety  
Sorry dude! I'm sure somewhere in this thread or another there are people who have complained about the mint green faces, maybe they'll chime in.

I know well what it's like trying to track down MP parts for sale or trade, and it is usually easier to just buy what you want and then sell the parts that you don't (i.e. buy a 1st run, swap the faces with a 2nd run, then sell the 1st run on).

 

This face brings me great joy.

Thought it would be the face I used the least, it ended up being my favourite too!

Went through this when trying to make a toy-accurate MP Grapple. Was looking for anyone out there who would sell the toy-accurate face and helmet from Inferno, ended up buying an Artfire and butchering him up for Grapple. Bonus was I got the amazing Nightstick in the process.


A while ago I talked about those 3P faces going on ebay (not the light-up ones, just the toy accurate one and the half-squinting one). I got them a while back, the toy-accurate face was messed up and didn't fit, and the squinting face is kinda ugly. Definitely a design that wasn't refined (would look better if one of his cheeks were higher than the other, but they're both the same level). The faces match alright in colour, but they are a lot less glossy. Also, the peg on the 3P faces are thicker, enlarging the hole in his head a little and making his other faces fit a tiny bit looser.

Overall, definitely not worth a purchase.
