I don’t mean to go off-topic, but I wonder if Takahiko Shirai would like the idea of a relaunched Marvel Transformers toy line? Maybe add animals as alternate modes for certain characters, perhaps?

Wolverine to robotic wolf
The Punisher to firearm weapon with an orange safety tip on the barrel

Change Wolverine's alt mode to a robotic wolverine and I'm sold.
Although Thor's Pegasus is slightly odd due to the different pantheons. Is there a Norse beast that would work?

 

I think rebels is before rogue.

 

I can see Spiderman and Ant-man working. Wolverine as a wolf might be more popular than a wolverine alt-mode, though less appropriate, because a lot of kids (and adults) don't actually realise that the latter is an actual animal. Though a fanged and clawed robotic wolverine could be cool and educational.

Punisher as a firearm will probably be a no-go with all the messed up stuff going on at US schools these days. Hasbro probably won't want to go there. They might go for some sort of big tough looking vehicle mode, though.

Captain America to military vehicle is pretty much standard, though I'd buy just about any Takara Marvel/Transformers done in the style of the new Star Wars/Transformers figures.

I'd give Loki a form more associated with trickery than aggression, like a crow or something.

The Norse version of Thor had a chariot that was pulled by goats, and he was sometimes known as the Lord of Goats. The Pegasus or an alicorn mode might work for Valkyrie for those who watched the last Thor movie or it's trailers.

 

So Luke Tauntaun Transformers anyone?

 

Yes, but only if you have to split the tauntaun's stomach to flip out the Luke parts.

Love the idea of Loki as Fenris Wolf! Personally though, I think Thor would work better as a creature from Norse mythology, rather than the Greek Pegasus. Unfortunately, the only animals associated with Thor that I can think of of the top of my head are goats.

 

You have some of these wrong, Spider-Man / Pig (Spider-Ham), & Thor / Frog (Throg).

I like how practically EVERYONE wants Star Wars vehicles that turn into Transformers characters (which would make way more sense), and yet Takara insists on making terrible mecha versions of Star Wars characters.

"But look! It's a robot Han & Chewie!! Every character is better as a robot, right??"

 

Okay, might as well get back on the Star Wars topic and stop talking about Marvel.
