I bought her today from bababobo’s new account. He has zero feedback so “IT PLEASES ME TO BE THE FIRST”. Have all the iron Factory ladies so this was a no brainer for me

Man, I just bought the original version about two months ago. I like the two swords with this one. Oh well, at least she's available to pick for others who missed the boat the first time.

Windblade isn't a character that I'm tripping over myself to get, but I have to say that RID2015 WB looks really horrible...

What's the difference between this one and the original or earlier one from IF?

See a few posts above yours, someone just posted a photo of both. New on the left, old on the right.

Mine is on the way from Netclow, pretty keen to have it in hand. The gold paint on this looks very sharp indeed. While this figure is a bit unnecessary since I have the original, I'm actually glad because now I can have one to keep at the office. I don't really like to keep my good stuff anywhere but home, but sometimes pine for something to mess around with when I'm procrastinating/working hard.

Thanks for that and sorry for my question. What I meant was the difference in source material. What are they both based on for their looks to be so different.

This one, with the gold is from the IDW Combiner Hunters story arc. The normal one is the regular/original IDW Windblade.

Many thanks to @Chosen Prime, and the US post women and men, for my little huntress.

I was also pleasantly surprised by how well packed her box was in voluminous, teal* bubble wrap.

My only gripes with this fly girl is that the pegs for her swords are too wide to plug into her wings, and the paint on one of her swords chipped a little bit near the tip of the blade.

I could sand and shave the pegs so they can holster in robot mode, but I did find a way around this for jet mode. Still, not only were they too wide, but each blade’s peg was actually a different height, which is... interesting. I’ve appended a shot of that below in a spoiler tag, along with a shot of the box before I released Miko from her confines.

Anyway, let’s start with something cute, Bruticus holding up these two babes!

    46EF033C-3F1D-4F41-84EE-DCC0DB5FC984.jpeg

Now, didn’t I say something about attaching the blades in jet mode...

    520F2986-C21E-4BEF-9055-EBF91858D0E5.jpeg

It didn’t take very long to figure out that Miko can just hold her swords in her hands in jet mode. It might not be as perfect as plugging them into the rotors and using Vortex’s stand attachment, but it still looks fine. And, Miko with that purple nubbin sitting inside her legs is also in the appended photo showing the mismanufactured pegs.

Anyway, go get that cheezy zealot, Miko!

    650E6A5A-7AE6-4F25-A5E4-9B28E22E23F6.jpeg

Admittedly, Miko’s legs look a little weird here, but it’s still okay for a lil aerial melee.

And, finally—as the Blue Öyster Cult would say, “Dominance, & Submission!”

    4E7A7F37-734A-4C1D-910E-C5090C0B8C16.jpeg

Without butterfly joints, Bruticus can’t get into the Obari Pose, but he can applaud Windblade’s skill!

And it took a bit to get her to balance just right on top of Sunstorm, but it was worth it.

Now, the next two photos I let iPhoto automatically resize, which allows them to be posted vertically and not perpendicularly on their side. I presume that, past a certain height or aspect ratio, the Board tilts photos to make them fit horizontally.

Weird, and minor, but I thought it worth noting.

While you don’t have to fold her wings or fold them all the way back, I think somewhere in between gives Miko enough width without feeling flat or overly small, if you fully shut them.

    0ACA5E4C-7C2C-4B21-91CB-17CA7976DAD2.jpeg

I thought I’d leave the duo on the desk and off the stands, but that didn’t last long.

While I have one more Revoltech stand, who knows if a future Combiner Hunters Chromia would have a similar hole in her lower back that would be ripe for a Revoltech joint, like Iron Factory’s Arcee mold.

All the same, Iron Factory’s Windsaber is splendid, and, soon, Slipstream soars!

So, thank you, again, Iron Factory for bringing me back to Transformers!

As you can see below, I’m pretty sure that’s Vortex’s Stand attachment sitting just inside the panels.

Moreover, there’s the two differently sized pegs, below...

    4F0B76FD-C2F7-4288-853F-AFD53A63F225.jpeg

It’s a bit of a bummer, since I really did like the look of them docked in her wings, but it’s not a big deal. I suppose I could eventually sand them down, or maybe ask for a replacement, but it’s not that big of a deal for me.

Finally, here’s my first photo from the day, from before anything else got snapped...

    6DD68173-0460-4887-B700-3A03FA2A3444.jpeg

And, if anyone wants shots of the rest of the box, I’m happy to oblige, but I didn’t think anyone would be that curious.

But, if you’ve read this far, I’d just like to say I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay!

Oh, and one more thing—for anyone wondering, the model kit above is an SD Devil Dragon Blade Zero Gundam from Gundam Build Fighters Try, which is a very silly name for a very cool kit, the first and last kit I every painted, even if that was only panel lining with a Gundam marker :p

    *Psst, Black Convoy, Iron Factory.

I've found weapon pegging onto wings or other back kibble is an issue on several of their mini fembots unfortunately.

Yeah, Arcee’s short swords were initially quite annoying to apply, @edgecrusher

But, I have a slight update!

After a little patient pressure, the longer peg connected, which was not the peg I expected might not need any attention.

Further, with just a couple rubs of eighty aluminum oxide sandpaper, the fit is finished...

    7CAE962E-0D33-4F28-9C5C-BF21F5B4F047.jpeg

I also tried putting Arcee’s short swords into Windblade’s hand and it looked a bit unbalanced.

The following still looks unbalanced, but I think Lady Kawaguchi’s Devil Dragon Blade suits Miko and it certainly fit nicely but not too tightly in her hands...

    36B9A53F-9306-45EA-A409-A203FBB315B1.jpeg

And, I should note that I managed to plug the 5mm Iron Factory stand port into Miko’s heinie and then bringing the nosecone back down to wedge it all, lightly, together.
