I mean, yeah, but I can (probably not during the liquidations now) go into a TRU and find their cheap shit area and find you 3 different laser/ray/space guns. I don't see why Shockwave would hit that hurdle.

    Dude do you live here?
Dude blow up that google map you posted. See that huge area in the middle by miami gardens and hialeah where there is not a single shop ? Thats where im at. Its predominately latino and other minorities. Out here millennials dont read comics. They play sports, ride skateboards, and play video games. A majority of the locations on the map are 25-30 miles south of me. Some are off to the east, not as far but definitely not local to the point where youre gonna hear about them by word of mouth. Could I have gone the techy-geeky route and use google? Sure I could have. But as I explained in a couple other posts these types of places are absent from my hood. When I was a kid there was 3 places only a bike ride away. Times have changed based on local demographics. If I was gonna open a comic book shop, I wouldnt do it in my neighborhood either. But on the flip side I got smoke shop and a hookah bar both in walking distance from my house.

No, that’s not what I meant. At least both my local Toys’R’Us’ failed to stock or rarely stocked anything new, regularly. Most Power Rangers, Titan Returns and Last Knight figures I got from the competition Target, Walmart, Amazon. I got my masterpiece transformers, including the newer movie masterpiece line from online retailers. Multiply this times how many thousands of people doing the same, and you have Toys’R’Us out of business. Don’t take things so literal my friend.

Flip Shockwave over for his Cybertronian submarine mode. Easy advertisement.

Can't argue with that. I mean, obviously Shockwave would never happen and who knows about the whole Lambo thing, but it would have been nice to have something other than a figure that already got released over here.

Well im 41, so I actually lived in a time when word of mouth played a key role in my hobbies. No internet, no cell phones, just the "word on the street". So its a natural reflex for me. Us Generation Xers got to witness the end of many eras.

I preordered the TT Mall one from TCP just last week, which looks to be exactly the same. $80 as well, but I’ll keep him in my Roller’s Stash to wait for free shipping, and I get rewards points there.

At first I didn’t really care when they announced it, but those blue windows and toon doors grew on me. Plus the fact that I never bought a 2nd MP Prowl for my vehicle display also helped. Glad I skipped the Hasbro TRU one with less paint. Oh yeah, and I love those launchers. I gave my first ones to blue Bluestreak, and he might take these ones as well.

Probably same reason Classics Megatron hits that hurdle now.

Whatever you say, bro. Good thing you're not doing something tech geeky and communicate with other people via that newly-fangled inter-net shit.

Why resort to the advanced technology of Google when you can sign up for a message board and ask there?

I still see the in value good old fashioned conversation and dont tell people to "google it". Quite honestly I find it to be very sarcastic and condescending when people do that. And it has nothing to do with the fact that were chatting on an online forum. People do that s**t in person all the time. F**king annoying. Its not exactly the most constructive way to hold a conversation.

I gave up on MP through Toys R Us a long time ago being forced to collect the JDM versions of the Masterpieces. They were pricey, we didn't get enough releases, enough supply and they were so far behind TTs releases which are already slow. They should just mass release them at a 40 - 50 price point.

Meanwhile, I've had plenty of good conversations with people on the internet that didn't involve someone expecting the other person(s) to spoon-feed them basic information because they couldn't be arsed to do some basic research on the topic first.

For contrast, "I've checked the obvious sources and have found the following, can someone please answer my remaining lingering questions?" is a good way to start a conversation that involves an inquiry. It shows respect on the side of the person asking the question, a willingness to at least do a quick research, and and ability to process information.

On the other hand, a passive-aggressive "I have no clue can someone fill me in on everything even though typing this question probably takes just as long as a Google research, if not longer" reeks of laziness, and is often an indication that the person asking this type of question would rather have others do all the work for them. Especially when it's the same people repeating this behavior over and over. That will never result in an eye-level conversation, because there's a fatal flaw in the other person's approach from the get-go.

Also, your tone really reeks of an underlying aggression that's not healthy. You're not helping your cause by throwing around insults, even if you're censoring them. As they say, truth does not belong to the one who shouts the loudest.

I totally understand your perspective. But try to understand mine. Lets say youre in a bar having a drunken but happy conversation with a stranger. If one does not know information on the topic, is it really the time or place to challenge someone to "do their research" before they open their mouth? Probably not. So what makes here any different? How do you know I have the time to do so at this very moment? Maybe im at work and only have a minute to drop a post? Also just because I bring something up doesn't necessarily mean Im trying to become the subject matter expert. In this case, I made 2 things very clear a long time ago...

    1. I dont read comic books.

    2. All the local comic book shops in my neighborhood closed years ago.

Does that mean I have the interest to go to the outskirts of my city looking for something I have no interest in? I think not. Should I have known about these places 25 miles away from my neighborhood? I think not. Now if theres a chance tgese places might start carrying transformers exclusive to Asia....now youve got my attention. Not trying to beat you up here my friend. Just speaking my mind.

Totally get what you're trying to say, but there is literally one in the "I" of Hialeah...and several more only a few miles south of that. Like I said, I get what you're saying, but if you actually don't know where any comic shops are you should probably at least look it up before you/rather than blast someone about it.

And yes, a ton of comic shops died in the late 90s and especially the 2000s recession, it's not exactly a growth industry.

I didnt blast anybody. I just stated what I know locally. The old school way. To my knowledge, theres no Amish chicken farms in Hialeah either. But hey who knows what google will reveal?

When I clicked on the Google maps link posted earlier, I didnt see any red dots in the entire vicinity. Just places way south and east of me. Places I really dont visit because I dont know anybody in those areas. So obviously I wouldnt know whats there locally.

Probably mentioned already, but comic shop markups can be brutal. I'd worry that msrp of $79.99 means closer to $100 on a shop shelf. I don't blame shops for that since they're usually small local businesses, but I also can't afford to buy as much from them as a result.

As much as I like Prowl, I can't justify throwing down cash for this. They only changed a few colors for crying out loud. If it came with alternate faces and battle damage from the movie like in the below images, I'd be all-in, but for this? Easy pass.
