Well, now it looks like all three variants are selling for about $100 on eBay. Still high as hell, but not the $200 or $250 it was on the day of release

Just went through all the tracks. It's a nice compilation, but so many iconic pieces are missing. Hope vol. 2 is in the works! :D
Wish more of season 3 was on there. I forgot how awesome those tracks are, Synth/Retro wave heaven!
It's much easier to appreciate it without poor AKOM animation to distract you. :p

Well, I've managed to find a digital rip of the album. Guess I can safely store my Optimus Prime copy and keep it mint!

Wow...that's warped. I'd send it back for a refund, personally. While there are techniques that people use (involving ovens, yikes), it's generally left to the experts. Either way, probably going to cost more if you pay somebody to do it. Thing is, depending on where he bought it, the company might not accept a return...claiming that the damage was in shipping, or user error. Ah, the joys of vinyl. Shipping claim could cover the costs, though, too...I'd just return it.

UNLESS...you don't hear a difference in sound quality. Some of my best sounding vinyl are moderately warped...it's really hard to avoid on previously owned discs. As long as it's not audible, then...it's up to the ears. But that looks pretty warped.

Yeah I managed to find it on that site also... wasn't quite obvious due to the thread title. I have to say, after listening to it, I don't feel it's drastically different than what Jimbo put out. Sure, some of the tracks are clearer, but Jimbo's version was as close to complete as we could get. I do hope Hasbro considers a CD or digital release in the future with the remaining tracks.

I believe there are enough missing tracks to fill another vinyl record, and with the 1st pressing selling out it is a very good idea for the record label to do this. A digital or CD release would be great too.

Oh that sucks! Mine has a bit of that warp too (the same bumblebee variant) however it doesn't look as bad as yours. In my case, while I can see the warp it thankfully does not have any playback issues. I'm fortunate to have an amazing turntable that grips the vinyl like a F1 car on a racetrack, which no doubt helps. My warp is not launching the tonearm into the air and not pitch bending the audio, so I'm good. Does it actually sound ok? If so, just hang on to it. Unlikely you will get a replacement due to being sold out. One more thing - a record clamp or weight may slightly help, on one side at least..

Well, I haven\'t posted to this board in probably 10 years but it took the appearance of the G1 series music on an official release to bring me back! I agree that vinyl is not preferred, but regardless I ordered a copy on the day of release, grabbing an Optimus Prime edition. I already own a turntable, even though it\'s an old one, and did research on what kind of adaptor I need to transfer to mp3s. I\'ve tested it out with other LPs in my collection, recording into Audicacity on my Mac and so far the tests have been great. My copy is still in transit from ETR and should arrive next week. Really looking foward to this!

I\'m also curious about this \"shrine\"... while I\'m going to be making my own mp3s of the tracks, I\'ll be curious to find out from other fans what they did, how the sound quality turned out, etc.

I have been D.Jing since I was in my teens and luckily kept my Technics 1210s turntables and Techincs mixer, which I record out of, so vinyl releases are no problem. I use a phono out to small audio jack in and plugged that into the back of my P.C, and use a program called Sound Forge to record. It's best to record to Wav or Flac format, MP3 is bad quality because the sound is too compressed.
I find the recordings always sound better if you use a P.C rather than a laptop too, I guess this is to do with the soundcard.

definitely. You either need a good internal soundcard or an audio interface. The regular on board stuff is never good for music. Neither in a home studio or in a professional studio would you just use the onboard hardware or just a regular soundblaster soundcard. It's not only a difference in latency and audio quality and processing power but also the hardware used for everything and even the ins and outs. For example my soundcard has golden inputs and you can switch between either big rca mono jacks (one for left, one for right, so that both signales are separated) or you can have cinch in and outs. Regular soundcards mostly only have the small stereo jacks like you have on your phone, walkman or whatever. Definitely makes a lot of difference. But it always depends on the whole setup. If you don't have the right speakers, cables, etc. and generally don't hear the difference and you're just doing if for yourself, than it does not matter. You can then just do it that way it sounds good on your equipment and be done. But it will then mostly just sound good on your own equipment and nowhere else.
