Yes, they are the highest they've been in 20 years but they're still nowhere near the top of the market. if in 1998 they sold 2000 records and this year they sold 20,000 thats a HUGE increase, but still nothing compared to the 20 million sold on iTunes

I interrupt your regularly-scheduled bantering to let everyone know that I got my Optimus Prime edition copy today.

Who was saying that colored vinyls had a tendency to warp? Mine is straight as can be... Is there specific care that I should take or should I treat it like any other black, run-of-the-mill vinyl?

I'm no expert, but I treat all of my vinyl the same.

Right, no special care is needed for colored vinyl. Same as regular, keep it away from heat and in the sleeve when not playing.

So glad this was released, I thought the season 3 music was lost for good. The good thing about it selling out is that it shows there is a massive demand for another release.

Interestingly enough, Sonic Mania actually released a soundtrack on LP. Not totally pertaining to your point, but I found it as a cool tidbit. It also sold very well but didn't include all of the well known tracks that made it so nostalgic. To (re)start my vinyl collection, I might pick up that Cuphead soundtrack in a few weeks.

Also for those who ordered, I received my tracking number last week, and expected delivery is Monday. If Enjoy the Ride is shipping through a numerical order, I'm probably among the last shipments from the Optimus Prime limited edition, as there was only 5 remaining when my order was confirmed.

I found a thread on a forum but the link is private, and someone said in the thread that the season 3 tracks don’t work.

If I find anything else, I’ll PM you.

If you're referring to a certain "shrine", the Season 3 tracks work just fine. That person was either commenting on the quality, or was simply "that guy" who had trouble unzipping the files (seems to be at least one person in every thread, lol.)

I recieved my Optimus and Megatron vinyls today. What a joy they were just to open the shipping box. ETR Records clearly takes lots of pride in what they do as the packaging was exceptional. The vinyls themselves...what can I say? They are lovely in a way that I just cannot fully articulate. For those of you who live strictly in a digital world, you may never understand. And for that I apologize.

Thanks to all parties who made this release possible.

If it's the same copy I found on there, it isn't all that great. The stereo is off-center, the audio sounds a bit flat, there's a fair amount of pops and you can hear the friction of the needle dragging during quieter bits. I managed to more or less fix the balance and noise problems but I'm not having much luck with the EQ. It's also a bit on the quiet side but I can't really do much about that without re-amplifying the other problems. Based on what Murasame was saying about pre-amps, I'm guessing the guy who ripped it didn't have one. Still, it's better than nothing.

I'm probably listening to the mp3 version of that. It does not really sound remastered. I think my DVDs sound better. I'm listening to them on studio monitors, so it should not really sound like that. I hope it's just the recording from the vinyl. Can't wait till I have my own vinyl.

And yup. I'm also guessing this guy probably did not have one. There are also very loud rumbling noises in the background audible. The rumbling has more bass than the actual music. Sounds like recorded without pre-amp and then tried to rescue the recording somewhat.

I also guess the needle needs some cleaning...

But now for the music selection:
So far I love what I'm hearing :D

I did. And it's true, colored vinyl has a tendency to warp more than uncolored vinyl. The carbon black added to the plastic makes uncolored vinyl more durable and more resilient against warping.

If your copy is fine, good. Just make sure to take care of it. But if they make a black pressing, I'd recommend tucking the colored version away and buying the black version for play.

So, I just skipped a bit through the tracks. There's also a lot of tracks I don't remember really. And the tracks that I really wanted to have are not on there :(  I mean, there are really a lot of my favorite tracks on it, even a lot I remember from season 3. Just not my top favorite one and the s3 opening and ending :(  I mean the Vince DiCola inspired songs. Those were my favorites.

But the cool thing is, when I hear this music, I automatically have scenes from the cartoon in front of me. :D  :D  :D

So it's not like I wished the soundtrack to be, but it's still cool. I hope there's more to come... My desire is not yet sated with this.

If no one else manages to make a good rip, maybe I can try. I also have new systems on my decks that I have not yet used. They are basically pristine :D  But mine will take a few weeks until my delivery arrives here in Europe.

The only DiCola songs are in the movie and, IIRC, sparingly used in season 3 (the same songs from the movie, BTW). 98% of the TV show music was the canned-sounding budget orchestra horns used in GIJoe, Jem and other Sunbow properties...probably the same orchestra used to record "The Love Boat".

They have songs in season 3 that use the same melody as some songs from the movie, but are different songs.

For example this song at 5:29 is the one that I REALLY wanted to hear in better quality.

The original by Vince DiCola sounds different. It's in various variations on the Movie OST, but not this version as it appeared in S3.
