Good explanation. I can remember when i was a kid, Shockwave was one of the larger Decepticons. So i getcha. Not only the toy, in the comics too he was quite large. Its funny that in the 80s i only got to play with the Radio Shack version my friend had, except i always was unaware it was Radio Shack version at all. I didn't even realize he was a different toy. Since he was always called Shockwave, so until I was older teenager, I never knew there was a purple toy one IRL. It wasn't the 1st time toys didn't quite match the cartoons. OR the guide showed a different color robot. But the toy was always large ti my 7 year hands.

Probably won't find many since this toy won't be carried by any of the sponsors who are behind the big reviewers.

Just found my Shockwave at the first Walgreens I tried. I'm looking forward to cracking him open soon.

I have access to ONE Walgreens locally. They told me to stop today in case more came in, and all that they got was a case of TR wave one. Yeah, TR wave one.
Sadly, this really bunned me out after having a decent day.

After messing with my Bruticus dual wielding the legends class Shockwave a few days ago, I can’t help but envision Titan Devastator holding onto each of the arms, flipped upward on this new one in his alt mode, as a Gatling gun sort of super weapon. I think it’d work!

He doesn’t sadly, just a swivel. Not a deal breaker for lots of us, I’m sure shapeways will come up with something.

    Oh, believe me, I know.
I'm just such a massive fan of the character that thinking I may be getting another iteration of him today and then not was somewhat deflating.
    There's always tomorrow.

Found him today. Looked like whomever was there before me opened it up and didn't like it, cause the tape was broken, but Shockwave was still in his ties. Though I want a better shockwave with a few more swivels, give me some bending knees, and this is good enough Shockwave for me. Almost makes me want a decent voyager Soundwave now.

St. Joseph, MO, the Walgreens furthest north on Cook Rd. It was the only one they had, no Sideswipe. But they've hit the Midwest.

Completely agree. Add upper arm swivel and knees and this guy is on the level.

He could use a way to get a handle for upside down submarine mode, too, but that's just a personal pet peeve and not fair to the toy. Actually only fair complaint about vehicle mode is that the chest swivels down for it but doesn't tab in, making it a little loose, an odd design choice when it tabs in perfectly when it goes back to robot mode. Clearly Hasbro knows robot mode is the most important here.

But I like him, a good stand-in til we get a real voyager Shockwave, after that he can probably go live with some RID2015 toys and fit in well there, too.

I just have a feeling that this may be the best non-MP representation of the character we get. It needs work to bring it up to a better level, but at least it has enough of the correct design cues to be considered acceptable.

Still dislike the legs becoming the cannon, but I guess we're now stuck with that element since CW.
If we get the character in the next line after PotP (and I refuse to count that angry little gimmicky Cyberverse version as anything more than just another Shockwave for my shelf), it will either be saddled with some dumb gimmick, be way too big or again too small, definitely not have an actual gun mode and most likely look like those gawdawful WfC/IDW iterations since the next lines are Cybertron-oriented.

    Ugh.
Just salty because I don't have this yet.

Yes, but not as jagged and scrawny as the game design.

He's the best non-MP version so far, but I think he shows that HasTak knows how to design a better Shockwave. Throw some bigger line budget behind this one for some articulation and better plastic and you have a great robot mode.

It could help the vehicle mode, too, right now it's borderline dumb with his shins exposed and his arms just sticking out on the back, but some extra parts count would help.

Problem is I'm sure they really want to make a G1 Shockwave who turns into what he's perfectly designed to become, but it takes more than flipping him upside down to pass as anything but a gun. But whatever they end up doing, I don't think he'll come out looking anymore stylized than this Cyber Battalion guy, certainly not as many liberties as the Fall of Cybertron deluxe, and still feel very G1.

Walgreen's exclusive Fantastic 4 Reed Richards never hit any stores in my area. I don't buy Marvel Legends but my friend does & he hit every store & was never able to find one. I've been hitting different Walgreen's in different towns looking for Shockwave and

I found Shockwave a couple of nights ago at my local WG that never has anything. Good thing there are no TF collectors in my area. Only Marvel Legends, so I'll likely never find Reed until I leave the state of CA. Anyway, since I'm a sucker for Shockwave, I had to pick him up. Paid $16.99.
