And then there were purple hands.

I used the purple hands from a junker Green Goblin figure that I had. I had to slightly modify the forearms to accommodate the purple hands. The posts on the purple hands were longer and thinner than the posts on the flesh colored ones.

So I drilled a little bit of plastic out of the forearms to make the channel a little deeper. They fit nicely now.

While the purple on the hands and the extra fly arms on his back aren't the same exact shade, I still think it looks great.

 

Are all COD figures taller than standard Mega figures? I just noticed yesterday how much taller the astronauts are.

Thanks. I like the slightly more 'lifelike' proportions of these. Now I'm eyeing a WW2 pilot, a jet pilot, a hazmat guy...I don't even like Call of Duty but these look like great little 'real world' figures. So many rabbit holes...

 

I really enjoy the HALO aesthetic but the proportions ultimately made me stick with COD consistently and everything else occasionally. It's probably in my best interest as the HALO collection is a deeeeeeep rabbit hole. I enjoy what I have of the line though.

For those of you interested in making extreme modifications to your mega construx heroes ...

I've been experimenting with permanently dying HE-MAN figures in order to produce characters of different colours (who knows when Man At Arms green body will become available or bodies that can pass for different ethnicities ). I'll keep this short (if you want more information ask and I'll provide) - pvc dye works perfectly on the soft body parts and does not leech or run. The colour passes the white glove test . It's permanent. I'm still working on the flesh coloured hard parts (shoulder and elbow joints ) as they do not respond well thus far .

I would assume that the knee joints will not accept dye. They're painted at the factory using paint that *somewhat* matches and will probably have to be hand painted for customs as well.

 

Correct. I assume if we receive white or light colored lower legs on a figure in the future that might be the exception.

 

They are like teeny tiny GI Joe's. They are a hair taller than the Halo figures. Not sure on all the others.

 

I've both mixed in too much dye in the base and applied too much dye to the figure itself but I had no eye dropper available and I wasn't overly concerned with being extremely precise in this instance . The hard plastic parts recently received an application in this image . I'm considering heating the hard plastic before another application to see if the absorption improves .



The colours available - blue, dark blue , black , green , purple , yellow , orange , red ,pink and brown . As you can imagine ....this allows for a lot of custom figure options .

 

Waiting out the Destiny releases. I'm a pretty casual gamer. Looking forward to Man-At-Arms, I would really like to see Trapjaw happen.

 

Agreed. It'll be a tragedy if Trapjaw doesn't happen.

 

Trap Jaw is the reason I'm buying any of these things. If it doesn't come, I don't really need the others. But...I'll still keep them.  

 

Considering there are a number of Destiny figures that i do want but don't want to pay through the nose for i'm right there with you. I've never actually seen a Destiny figure in the plastic flesh ( i don't recall at the moment).

 

That works really well. I still don’t understand why they made a Colonial Marine instead of Ripley though.
