Is US Blast Off part of POTP? I know Hasbro is still pretending he doesn't exist, but...

 

I think it’s pretty well known he’s going to be a May madness store exclusive.

 

Okay, I just didn't know if he was part of POTP.

If nothing else has been revealed by now, something tells me this is it. After the last Prime Masters, the other Terrorcons and Firestar, Inferno, Outback, Cindersaur and Predaking...that's it. Unless they pad the next few months with repaints or minor retool, yeah.

 

Yeah I’m thinking it’s over with this last wave. Shame as this was a nice line.

 

Yes. One could use some of the extra combiner limbs, such as Rook, Alpha Bravo, Medix and (if you've got the Takara Protectobots) a spare Hasbro Streetwise to make Guard City.

 

What we know is pretty much it unless theres more exclusives.

And while it is believed Blast Off w/Megatronus is a May Madness eclusive by some, listings for him have appeared in other places, indicated a normal release rather then any sort of exclusivity. Product descriptions also label him as being a celebratory figure for the Combiner Wars portion of the Prime Wars Trilogy, with the similar special figure Repungus being the same, albiet for Titans Return.


Theoretically, there would also be a third figure for the POTP portion of the trilogy. I have to wonder if it isn’t the weird Counterpunch listings we saw a while back.

 

I know people were miffed Flywheels wasn't part of POTP, but the Duocon gimmick wasn't used by any other characters in the line, so it could very well be we get another pair of Legends that combine. Hasbro enjoys retools, so perhaps an absurdly heavy pair of retools of Battleslash and Roadtrap could be a jet and a tank.

And I'm still not discounting CHUG Seacons one day...

As has been stated, there was no indication of a May *Mayhem* exclusive, just fans making assumptions and assuming they were right. There is actually info online that counters the May Mayhem theory that makes it seem that he will be exclusive for some other reason (Probably that celebratory thing mentioned earlier).

Not a huge fan of that Hot Spot mold (how many cities can actually afford future-fire trucks?  ) - plus it felt hollow and uninspired to me. I guess "Inferno" is a good character to do, but I wish they'd dig deeper and find something more obscure. But then again, I'm not a fire truck fan, and maybe asking for more adult TFs is out of the question.  

The Legends re-paints look good!  

 

I wish they'd remolded parts of Cindersaur's body as well. I mean, I know I've been complaining about Hasbro simply settling for sticking a female head on an unmodified male Transformer's body on occasion, but that doesn't mean that doing it the other way round is much better either.

Outback's a must-have for me. He'll go nicely with Brawl. Inferno will be repurposed as a different character who's a backup member of the Protectobots.

Cindersaur.....Cindersaur's going to look a bit odd next to Slash. I'd have to see them both in hand to see if they can be 'repurposed' as members of the same gender.

 

I'd say it's an excellent demonstration on how male and female Transformers can have a variety of body types and the face being all you need to suggest the gender of the figure.

 

...not sure what this has to do with the thread? Battleslash and Roadtrap are already at retail. This thread is about the just-officially-announced Inferno, Cindersaur, and Outback.

I get what you mean about the 'unisex body type' thing, but I wish they'd done at least some subtle remolding on Cindersaur's body. I'd rather Hasbro avoid the 'one identical body fits all genders' approach.
