Agree with this aspect too, again why I'll be happy with the Mp3 version of the whole series for now, unless they make a CD down the line

I still buy music CDs simply because I'm not a fan of lower quality MP3's. Even the higher bit rates show their flaws when played back on a decent audio system or headphones.

That being said, the first thing I do when I get a CD is to rip it as FLAC and put it on a NAS.

If the soundtrack is only available on 2,000 dsics and doesn\'t come out on iTunes, we riot.

While this is a fun novelty item for hipsters and fans of retro (and I might try to get one for that reason) this is not at ALL what I think most of the fans are wanting.

I want to buy a COMPLETE archive of all the G1 songs in a set... and in a format I can play on modern equipment. (The record player was invented in 1877... well over a century ago.) Most of us play music on phone, computer, in our cars...

Please hear the fans and release the entire collection in a modern format — and please consider releasing the surround sound version that was rumored. I was most excited about that — and I know a lot of fans and I will jump to buy it.

All that said, I hope there are plans to merge the soundtrack and cartoon into a remastered blu-ray set of the G1 cartoon. (You can add my hopes for Scramble City and Zone to be added to the batch as extras. ;-) )

    This.
I prefer lossless formats for best sound quality, which is why I prefer buying CDs over digital downloads. iTunes m4a files are shit sound quality.

    Yeah, WE RIOT!!

.....wait, I thought we riot if Cena wins??
    :p

Anyway, the Enjoy the Ride Twitter post linked to on the main site only says they specialize in vinyl, so clearly they have nothing to do with any potential digital release. They wouldn't know if there's one coming one way or another, so the TFW news blurb is a little misleading in that regard.

Very strange public relations decisions by whoever's in charge of putting this music out there for consumption. Normally you don't want to piss off your potential customers by limiting your highly in-demand product to a minority market. Because of this, I can unfortunately see many people resorting to pirating this music instead of waiting for a digital release.

Shit, we do? I ain't finna complain about background music not getting a digital release. Life's too short for that.

The 2000 discs thing is a marketing tactic: it almost always generates demand and usually ensures that the inventory will sell.

Also, just $20 for 2 discs? Damn, my local store charges $25 for a Peter Gabriel record.

I don' think I have the patience to deal with this. After the Hasbro toy shop days.....just can't do it. I allready have the music....besides, my needle is broken.

It's just a one-disc gatefold. The other two are variants, I'm afraid.

Ridiculous----been waiting for this for years, and not only do I have basically zero chance to get it---even if I could, I can't listen to it in my car, via iPod or phone, or really anywhere. I haven't touched a record player since I was like eight---I grew up on G1 in its heyday, and even then records were in the way out---I bought the movie soundtrack on cassette.

Putting it on vinyl isn't even the correct retro format. :p

I'd be all for vinyl if it at least came with a digital download code as I've seen done with the releases from Data Discs. Finally giving us a proper G1 soundtrack but on a format that has zero portability (I am not carrying a record player backpack)? Lame.

Agreed. CD, FLAC, high bit rate MP3 would all be better.

Well I for one really am excited for this Vinyl. Although some might be disappointed, I’m just glad to have it at all.

There's some pretty close cuts on youtube, where someone's put together the OSTs pretty well.

I would really like this on CD. Sure, a vinyl (or all Three versions) would be cool for collector purposes, too god damn limited though...
