Got the DX Bike Robo. Rather than writing all the gush of how great this figure is, I'll keep it short and to the point: Its PERFECT.
I just opened mine up from BBTS and there was no little gray robot in or out of the box. I would like to know what's up with this too. If it was a limited run that's fine. But if they're all supposed to come with one then I would like one too even if it is stupid. And if they forgot to put one in my box that's pretty sloppy QC considering the top of the box has three pieces of tape so it was opened and checked at least twice. edit: I've seen in some reviews the extra faces were packaged in the box in a bag with the robot. But the one I got had the extra faces outside of the box. edit #2: I did some investigating and found out Chosen Prime's entire stock does not include the robot. I'm betting BBTS is the same. It seems to be something exclusive to Asian retailers. Here's my theory. The robot was included so they could say the Cy-Kill faces were for that, not for Bike Robo. But maybe that wasn't good enough for American copyright laws so they had to remove the faces from the package. And if that's the case then there wouldn't be any need for the robot since they're packaged separately. Maybe?
My faces were out of the box. I told The Chosen Prime abot the little bot and they never heard of it. I' a little sad. I would have liked a little CyKill faced robot on my shelf.
I got my Bike Robo DX from BBTS in. I did not get the robot to hold the faces but got the faces in a separate baggie. I really like Bike Robo DX. Mine had two left shoulders though, as the right shoulder has the screw hole in front. Everything else was fine.
"Giant nosecone behind the head" First, very much Gobot style. Second, behind the head verses over the head. Big deal, looks better as it is. "Forward facing wings"... what?!? "No tailfin" The tailfin is connected to the right leg. Yes there is a tailfin. "Bulky" You don't know that because you don't own one. It is not bulky. "Comically oversized AK47" Wrong again, fits the figure very well and is an awesome addition to the figure. It looks exactly like him. Shuttle Robo and Spay-C as it actually is are one in the same, just Americanized. "6 times more expensive" Well let's see 1982 vs. 2018... if you can add that is 36 years difference and I am SO glad someone is making these figures and doing such an excellent job at it despite all the small group bitchers and complainers who hang out on this site because they just got to have something to complain about. Can you do better? Let's see your version.
After that wall of text to say the toy equivalent of "all Asians look the same," you've got alot of nerve to make a comment like that. Now go play with your toy that you will instantly lose interest in the second another shiny enters your field of vision. If you actually spent 45 whole dollars to buy it, that is. Edit: Concepts you need to look up include "behind," "forward facing," and "adjusted for inflation." "Deindustrialization," along with a crash course in IP, specifically the mess that rebranded import toys with outsourced media often devolved into, would go to great lengths answering why only the Chinese ever get to make these sorts of toys. Of course none of that is guaranteed to cure you of this weird belief that merely existing shuts down all opposing viewpoints. You can scream until you suffocate and it won't ever force me to not see the liberties they took with the design that deviate from the source material.
Missile Tank arrived today. This is instantly one of my favorites with Battle and Rod Drill, all perfect examples of what this line is capable of. I love the transformation and how they were able to incorporate a rotating turret into the design. He’s got such a gorgeously slim and tidy bot mode that is a total joy to pose. I’ve griped a lot about the slow pace of this line and the lack of Blue Jet but for as fantastic as most of these end up the wait seems worth it. It really does seem like they are putting a lot of care into these.
Ha! I was so done with this line a month or two ago, too. Glad I jumped back in though, the last couple MR figures have been very satisfying. I don’t blame anyone for avoiding the line, it sucks never really knowing what’s coming next and frequently wondering if the line died. Anyone have a Mixer to unload? I figured I’d check here before hitting the Dojo.
I blame you for this. I just folded like a lawn chair. Your Order Contains... Haven't been in this thread in a while, but who else is hyped about the DX releases?!?!?! Personally hoping they at least get through the core cast of gobots in "masterpiece" form.
Ask them to make you their sponser, I am sure they will get back to you in a timely fashion around 2023.
