Eeeh, I’d say Predaking does the Titan combiner angle better. Everything’s generally colored correctly, none of the individual bots are squat and fat, and everyone has elbows (the important part!).

Hasbro doesn't always go for G1 look, look at Chromedome from TR for example. All I was saying I was thinking/ hoping for an updated look.

I find that the biggest issue with this toy and all that back kibble on the figures does not come from the fact that they had to combine five voyager sized figures and this was the only way. I find that the reason those big segments are back there is because they had to engineer a combiner out of five voyager figures that was just as tall as Devastator, who is six. If this thing was allowed to be much smaller in height when combined (which would still be taller than all of the standard CW combiners) I think the engineering would have been allowed to make more sense. But being a Titan-class toy, There were too many things that ended up becoming forced. Not to say it doesn't work at all, but I feel it takes away from certain aspects of the toy.

If you're the type to combine and leave them that way, this works. Same if you leave them in beast mode. If you're the type to have them in bot mode on the shelf face forward, and you know you'll never touch them again (except in transit to its other modes), this also works.

But, if you're like a lot of us that enjoy posing these things--maybe on some of those chain base sets, or just on the shelf or on the desk--you may have an issue with those extra bits hanging off their backs.

For me, at the end of the day, I just don't want combiner figures that tall for my classics shelf, Devastator OR Predaking. As a result, this one is just not for me. It's not that bad...it just isn't the right fit.

The truth is that doing combiners is hard, especially if you haven't the budget to design a MP figure. I'm the first to admit that the thigh kibble looks ugly, but I'm impressed that they managed to make a combiner this big out of voyager figures, and I'd love to see a MP version with the added engineering to have the kibble fold more into the bots.

Yeah, with all the bitching one can't find it anywhere either. The only store in ,y area that ever got in any of the box sets was TRU. Walmart and Target had them online only.

    "Devastator was so much better"
Scrapper and long haul didn't have elbows. Only long haul had a waist joint, and everybody on predaking appears to have elbow swivels (via balljoint). I'll take the thigh backpacks to a stiff armed scrapper and sumo long haul any day if the week.

To clarify... devastator was better, IMO. The individual predacons look a lot better than the constructicons for sure.

Predaking looks incredible, I honestly don\'t get the complaints. The main area in which these figures suffer imo is in their animal modes. Bot modes look good and combined mode is amazing. They\'re also missing weapons.

I'm excited for Predaking. All he needs is some new hands. Can't wait to see what 3rd party comes up with.

Looks even better in these pics.  I appreciate the comparisons with the G1 versions.

Only \"downside\" is that he\'ll he\'ll be noticeably smaller than Devy since this one\'s 18\" height seems to be to the top of his shoulder cannons.  Not a huge deal - just would have been even cooler if they stood head to head.

I'm not sure I like the thighs on the backs of the individual bots, that's not a good look. I was really hoping for a decent Tantrum and Divebomb at least, but I'm not sure now. Will have to get a closer look.

It's not like Moonracer doesn't have a massive backpack and I like her just fine. So we'll see I guess, but my excitement is significantly less than it was.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Some fine parts integration there, Hasbro. Subtle; very subtle.

    Agreed.
Eh, I feel like the best version of Devastator was the Unite Warriors version, and even then I want to get the DNA Designs kit to use on it (Gotta get Devastator himself first though!), but Predaking looks like the Hasbro version will be good to get without having missing stuff, other than weapons, which third parties can again do for us, assuming Predaking isn't somehow the only POTP figures that Takara are going to change, in which case... :banghead:

Is it just me or does Cyberverse not understand what the hell are knees? I hope Shockwave, AT LEAST, has knees. Also, why is Ratchet the only one in vehicle form?

Should we expect to see any of these in the next 3-4 months? Wave 1 of potp arriving early(or, y'know, in a reasonable time frame) has kinda thrown me.

    And adding articulation.
I think Shockwave has knees for transformation. And I was also wondering that about Ratchet? What purpose did that serve? Unless someone broke it...
