FINALLY!!!

This guy feel sooo premium! It arrived in perfect condition and with the extra canon and backbplate. So while this was from Show.Z's second batch, it's probably from IT's first run.

 

Hi, newbie here! I finally got my money saved up for an MP-36 when I bumped into this thread seeing if I can save money at the last minute.
Are there any great MP-36-KOs in particular I should be looking out for, or would I be better off going legit for Takara?

 

Great figure! Still waiting for mine. Sprue marks on the forearms indicates 2nd run I believe.

 

Concensus for build quality is the IT KO. Straight MP36 is loyal to the Takara colour but QC isn't guaranteed. THF is possibly the second best in QC and seems to be 1/2 way between the Takara grey and metallic in colour. The Magten is supposedly the Takara MP36 with a metallic paint.

Each have their own versions of the cannons - based on LED colour and voice clips. The cannon didn't dictate which version I bought, IT all the way!

 

After owning MP36 (first run) I decided to part with him because of the paint rub issues. I had barely put his arm cannon on and there was rub from it. I never transformed him either in fear of damaging the figure more.

I researched and watch several reviews on what is available (THF, KO, IT-01) I have concluded as many others have that IT was the way to go. I ordered two of these guys which was cheaper than what I paid for MP36 last year and much

change left over. IT is a hell of a figure. He's solid, tight and just magic (courtesy of the mold from TT). MP36 lacked tightness on my copy. He was a little fiddly and ratchets weren't as snug. He also felt a little light even though he had some

diecast in him. IT has a good amount more of diecast in him which I love and hes very solid and just feels right. If you are unsure please watch Benscollectibles and Toy Dojo's reviews. They review all the available figures with MP36.

What really sold me was that IT is more cartoon accurate in color. For those that like the silver paint there are other options too as well as MP36.

A really big plus is that since I never transformed MP36 in fear of messing him up and after taking IT for a spin and getting him into gun mode. This guy is a blast! The gun mode looks great and has very few gaps if any. Everything fits together

very nicely. I couldn't imagine doing the transformation several time with the original and not having some evidence of paint rub, scratches or breakage.


Again this is just my opinion and experience with the figures that I personally had. I'm sure there is some variance between collectors. For me, getting two figures for cheaper than the original and in my opinion are much better than him

Go for the IT-01 (Infinite Transformation) KO version. Best quality at the lowest cost.

I'm disappointed by InfiniteTransformation's megatron...IT DOESN'T TRANSFORMS AUTOMATICALLY, WORST TOY EVER!     /s

This is definitely the best one. The plastic it's sturdy, the paint feels good, and the joints are better than the official ones. Best 92$ i'll ever spend.

 

Curious on the 3 you bought. Who did you get them from? I was looking as well and had found those exact ones on my own but not that cheap.

 

I just opened my IT-01 Emperor of Destruction and this $80 purchase feels like it should be a $240 official. It comes with a ton of accessories, has great box art, features those great English voice chips (even if the sound is a little tinny and distorted) and on top of all that left gives me the Megatron I've wanted (sorry XTB Apollyon and Hasbro CW Megs, you've been upgraded) with a spare $160USD to buy whatever I want! IT didn't just sell me a product- they did me a favor! IT is bringing #sexyback!

Wow, $80!? That's a super win. I picked up two from TD for $110 each and got them in 3 days which is still awesone for me. I'm playing with them in bot and gun mode. I can't remember having this much fun with a toy in my adult career lol.

I can't wait for my water slide faction symbols and gun holder.

This ius probably the best buy of my collection by far.

 

I ordered from this guy. I don't know if he's legit. They shipped out within a few hours after I ordered and left poisitive feedback. It's $5 I'll find out soon enough.

I agree with what everyone else is saying with one caveat. The paint on the IT one is so clean it almost looks like it polished plastic. So to me the official has a more premium look sitting on the self. I did carefully transform the official one and saw no damage. I would not recommend the official if you want to transform him a lot care free.

The IT-01 is a great quality KO at a good price, strong paint and tighter joints than the official. Only warning is to be careful pushing it all together in gun mode. My copy had an issue (or maybe it was just me) stowing one of the hands so I was using a good amount of force trying to get the gun to line up properly.

IT-01 is awesome just not invincible. If I had done the same to the official the damage would have been way more severe.

Lastly the instructions on IT-01 are not nearly as clear as the TT ones. I would recommend looking at YouTube or getting the official instructions for first transformation.

Happy to finally finish updating my "Toy Class of '84" Decepticons yesterday. (for some reason TF-D notified the email account associated w/ my paypal account and NOT the email associated with my TFD account)



Even with the late pre-order completion, I still received the 1st run IT-01 and am very pleased with it. If I was able to make any changes with the IT, it would be to the directions only. Having never owned MP-36, I had to watch a transformation video to find that I was missing the step of rotating his ankle covers. Otherwise, if I was unfamiliar with MP's, I'd never guess that this was a "KO".

 

By the way, what is the little rectangular "fold-out" piece on the silencer for? I haven't seen anything (whether for KOs or the official MP-36) that covers this little piece.
