It doesn't look as bad as the stress mark. Plus, if you have him in bot mode most of the time, you won't see it. I was packing mine back up for a move and found out why I thought the mirrors were unpainted; it's because the spares are unpainted.

Is the stress mark the line extending half the length of the windshield, and beginning underneath the connection point where the joint meets the "glass"?

I think others have had the same stress mark, and I wonder if TT either engineered the space between the hinge and the glass too tightly, or if the windshield flexes across its width over the hinge.

No it's a crack. I can feel it with my finger nail. I don't know how I caught it. It's only visible when you hold a light on it and view from the side. Here's a head on shot with and without light.

Sorry to hear you have this. I thought it was odd for TT to place a joint that is backed on to clear plastic, because this is exactly what can happen.

Wheres the best place to pick this guy up? I originally picked him up through NipponY for a good deal which they still have for about 77 plus 20 shipping. Any other great deals like this?

Now take this and redo Sideswipe to match the articulation, look, and quality. I may wait and get the Takara trailbreaker now. I would like to see their take on Gears and a few of the other mini bots that 3rd party did.

Seems that did the trick. I did the translation before, but it just kept on erroring out and was unable to put it into English. Much apprecaited!

Using clear smoke or clear black paint is always difficult because it has to go on perfectly evenly, in a coat that is uniform thickness across the whole surface, and it has to dry like that. I've tried it a couple times and it's a PITA.

Much easier to simply tint the windows. And do it with window tint film. These small pieces of vinyl can be laid on the windows just like a real car. If you have a steady hand and can cut nicely with an x-acto, then that's the way to go. If you have some experience applying vinyl, even better, but with such a small surface air bubbles shouldn't be a problem.
