I've noticed that stress marks are becoming par for the course with current Transformers releases, both Hasbro and Takara. My LG-EX Ginrai has stress marks on the panels that allow the arms to swing out between robot and truck modes, both sides. Quality has been going down steadily over the last several years and it's really starting to dampen my enthusiasm for collecting modern Transformers. It's caused me to drastically reduce my purchases to the bare minimum "must haves", which is predominately characters from Headmasters, Masterfoce, and Victory.

 

I just don’t understand why the pin would be rotating with the flap. I think a similar thing is what caused the crack on my Overlord’s right wrist as well.

I’m going to try popping the pin on the chest at some point to see if I can fix or at least mitigate any further damage.

I guess I’ve been lucky with most of my purchases. Up until now my only glaring issue had been a titan master port that was not installed on my Slugslinger, which I found sitting loose inside his cockpit.

 

I think the issue with the wrist is in the design. The part of the wrist that swivels isn't rounded, its got flat spots that angle. This gives the wrist a clicking feel as you swing it around. I think this puts too much stress on the hinges.

I think this was the same problem I had with Ginrai. Thankfully, I didn't have an issue with Overlord's wrists, but Ginrai's shoulder pannels had severe stress marks. I went ahead and filed those pieces down to try and round them out more. The stress marks are still present but it doesn't appear to be getting any worse now that I filed some of the plastic down.

 

I painted his chest but I can't decide how I want to put the panels back on.

 

So I take it the other clones didn't make it out before CNY? What's a reasonable estimate for them now? I've got both clones on order, but it won't ship until both are in.

Hi everyone. I am planning on buying this LG-60 figure next month so that my TT God Ginrai doesn’t feel too lonely.

Is there anything that is not great on that figure? Anything I’d like to watch?

If you had the choice, would you rather buy a 3rd party figure of the same character? Which one and why?

Well, the chest engine blocks are non-removable without dissecting the figure and damaging some parts with glue on it. So, if you want to put titanmasters into his chest straight out of the box, Hasbro is actually the way to go. Also, both the Hasbro and Takara versions have some minor hinge cracking in spots around the tailfins and other areas. So far, nothing straight up horrible...just disappointing.

That said, I still prefer the official HasTak versions as opposed to the weird, spikey 3P version out there.

Watched a review for both. My main concern is these chest engine blocks. I would have liked them to be featured as godmasters on the one I buy. If I get it well, the Takara’s Godmasters are Overlord’s faces and Hasbro’s Godmasters are the engine block? Not sure as you also get a face sonI don’t get it well. If someone can explain as this is decisive for me.

 

The funny thing is that if you want to have God Ginrai and Overlord in proper scale to each over, one of them must be a 3p figure. Takara God Ginrai scales better with MMC Carnifex, which is a very good figure but it's expensive, especially since it's based on IDW Overlord and you need anche upgrade kit to make him look like more Masterforce Overlord.
For LG60, I plan to pair him with Maketoys Thunder Manus that is just the right height.

 

Then I guess I will just take the one that scales the best, that must be Takara’s one. Not a fan of Carnifex as I want my Overlord to be G1-like
