The Han and Chewie combiner was one of my first TFs as a kid; I loved it and played with it constantly. But as you said, it suffers from GPS. Poor Chewie now has a broken shoulder as a result, and is basically stuck permanently as the rear half of the Falcon now.

Also, for everyone else, do not get the Ep. 3 Jedi Starfighter TFs. I have the Obi-Wan version, and basically the entire thing is one back-heavy, kibble-tastic piece of garbage.

I went through a phase where I tried to justify buying them when in reality I just wanted something new to buy and those didn't satiate me. On paper they sounded great, with removable pilot figures, similar scale to Action Fleet and what seemed like fully articulated robot modes.

When it was all said and done, I regretted buying them all except for Death Star Darth Vader. That figure is awesome. I'm not big on electronics but it's one of the rare toys where the electronics integration impressed me. Cloth cape, articulation is good, aesthetically it's proportionate. To this day I'm still glad I picked it up.

The new Takara TIE Vader smokes the old one.

I wish I had known that. I just couldn't resist a Millennium Falcon Transformer, especially when part of it turned into a Chewbacca-bot. And now he's forever stuck in alt-mode.

Death Star Darth Vader was the only other Star Wars Transformers I got. Just about everything else looked c*** compared to 'regular' Transformers. Now that I know that a different team of designers were working on those, it makes sense.

The new Takara Vader-former is the sort of thing I wanted all along, though I wish the wings could get closer together at the back like a cloak. Still, it definitely blows it's earlier TIE counterpart out of the water.

So do we know the date on this yet? I thought it was coming the same time as topspin/twin twist, but they're in stock at A-E and this isn't.

I like the shot of all three of them together around the 2:12 mark. That's the kind of Star Wars Transformers collection I want.

I'm thinking X-Wing/Luke Skywalker followed by Slave 1/Boba Fett.

Others on my wish list would be (sticking to original trilogy for now):

    - Imperial Shuttle/Emperor Palpatine (with a bit of remolding, you could probably get the Emperor's Royal Guard too).

    - TIE Fighter(, Interceptor or Bomber)/Various Imperial Pilots

    - AT-AT/AT-AT Commander and Snowtrooper (though I'd actually prefer a Stormtrooper and Snowtrooper version)

    - Tantive IV/Princess Leia, R2-D2 and C3PO

What if R2-D2 comes with Luke/X-Wing?

The X-Wing's not a bulky fighter, so that would mean getting a much smaller Luke or a big X-Wing.

I think it would be better for single (human/humanoid) pilot ships to turn into a single robot.

Or it's just an R2-D2 mini-figure or an R2-D2 Headmaster.

I wouldn't mind a mini-figure (we probably may end up getting one, like Vaderformer's Stormtroopers) but a R2-D2 Headmaster's a bit too extreme for me.

But still a kind of cool idea - maybe they could make it an additional feature. Regular Luke's head pops into his chest. Then a panel flips over to reveal a TR style Headmaster port for the R2-D2 Headmaster. That sort of thing.

I still want larger Star Wars Transformers figures for R2-D2 AND C3PO, though. Tantive IV seemed to be the most appropriate alt-mode, especially if you throw in Leia.
