Welp, looks like I made a good call passing on the other bruticus'. Here's hoping the rest of it are as amazing as this limb.

I'm not worried about the stability as much due to the company having a great track record, but with today's penny pinching money hungry company I am curious if they will still use non hollow thick good plastic like when they started. We're even getting hollow pieces in TakaraTomy's Masterpiece line now, like my Shockwave, and if you look at the tires on MPM Barricade on his shoulders they are hollow aa well and it's too easy to notice. I've noticed 3rd party companies doing it now too.

I'm liking these much better than UTs which they dropped the ball on their Onslaught.

 

I don't think I've seen an onslaught that no one's dropped their balls on yet.

As a stand-alone figure in botmode, I think Zeta’s onslaught looks promising. Not perfect but best I’ve seen so far. *coughhollowshloulderscough*

And I was all set to consider getting their set or at the very least just their onslaught (since he's always awesome, and the bot himself is quite nice looking) but man oh man can I not deal with weapons being so absurdly over sized.

 

Given the Emgo review of UT Onslaught having failed ratches; that opens the door for MMC Bruticus to steal the spotlight.

Can anyone tell me if MMC Bruticus will come with an extra chestplate that is cartoon accurate?
Got to say I didn't have many transformers as a kid, my neighbor did. Anyhow, basing New Collectables on toys from the 80s which most didn't have rather than the cartoon everyone watched seems like an upside system. I'm okay with giving options for toy version fans but why isn't the cartoon look the default standard over the toy version? Esp. since now that I see those 80's G1 toy versions I'm glad I didn't have them since a lot of them weren't good.

 

There won’t be any extra pieces. The chest plate flips out of Onslaught and the centre would probably be blue judging from the drawings. It’s kinda weird how Vortex, Swindle, and Brawl is toy accurate, then Onslaught is toy accurate and Blastoff is not really accurate to anything just like Zeta’s, UT’s, and Warbotron’s.

 

They are kind of big, but I don't think ridiculously so. And they can collapse down to the first section, so the barrel length can be adjusted at least. Plus I'm assuming Zeta's focus was on combined mode first and that's why we got the proportions we got. I think I still prefer the look of the UT Onslaught to Zeta's in alt mode though, even if I'm not super crazy about the shade of blue UT went with. Hopefully we can some physical shots of MMC's Onslaught soon.
