It does look like a wargaming miniature but can't say it's anything like official designs for WH40K warships. It doesn't look like anything for Full Thrust either. Or SW or ST.

But then, there are so many unofficial and generic wargaming miniatures for starships produced by small companies that it could be anything, really.

Brace yourself. Generic starships are one of the most common themes for non-brand gaming figures.

 

Yeah, I think you're looking at a ship from a tabletop fleet combat game. Don't recognize it, and I'd think it's not from Battlefleet Gothic or Star Wars Armada (could be wrong on that, though). Firestorm Armada maybe? If you took it to a local miniatures gaming store, they might be able to tell you.

 

Nothing common or recent, I don't think. Rules out Star Trek, Star Wars, Firestorm, or Dropfleet. It looks about the right -era- for Battlefleet Gothic, but it's not from that game. Intersting look though, with all the greebling and vaguely Battlestar Galactica thing it has going on.

 

Used to be typical for wargaming models. Especially older figures are heavy. Everything produced in eighties and even seventies is diecast, no resin or plastic. Lots of the early nineties models too.

And when I write "diecast" I mean alloys made mostly of pewter and even lead as they were better for casting fine details and not as breakable as lighter but more brittle metals.

 

Maybe its from Battletech or its sister game Aerotech.

 

It doesn't look like any of the classic jumpship or dropship designs. I don't recall any of the fighters looking like this, either, but I will concede, it's been a long time since I've thought about Aerotech.

 

It does look somewhat like the old 80's Citadel Miniatures spaceships...



I do still own some of these, bought in the 80's, but they're in storage boxes at the moment

 

Oh yeah, totally, up until recently that stuff was all lead and tin. Easiest to cast and get detail out of.
