I've considered him along with Striker Manus, but I'm not willing to pay more than 60,- for those... with shipping and taxes even those will cost me 90,- a piece in the end at that price. And I'm looking for realistic looking Megs mostly. But Despotron and Mightron don't scratch my itch enough to stand next to my Apollyon. I like the WeiJiang offering, but it's kinda big... would get a smaller one though.

Just got him today (finally) and as soon as i held it on my hands wow it feels cheap. When i try to make it stand, it keeps falling. Oh ok no heel spurs. Great. It has many parts prone to breaking i think, so better be careful handling. The tabs are not locking perfectly and the side skirts are just dangling there omg. I see this guy has so many engineering going on and when i start opening the manual book, um, wtf bruh maybe i'll transform it one day. Perhaps.

I do feel great potential (great gun mode) on this toy though if not because the thin material and poor joints everywhere. Feels a lot different when i compare it with MP 36 superior ratchets. Not bad for a megatron variation on the shelf for me personally.

So i transformed it today and the gun mode is indeed great and solid. Just take it easy with handling it, especially on securing the barrel lock. Also, do not get curious on spring load hinges at the back of the thigh, i broke mine. Hats off for the complex engineering. Great stuff. IMG_20171127_121057_HDR.jpg IMG_20171127_121203_HDR.jpg

And that, right there, is why I'm confident in my decision not to buy this guy, even at Black Friday/Cyber Monday pricing. When he's like...$80, shipped, then I'll possibly bite. I'll never pay full price for it. If the chance to buy it never comes because of that, so be it. I don't need a subpar figure in my collection, I'll be fine without it.

Damn, he literally looks like a completely different figure with that silver paint. If Bold Forms had done the right thing and given this guy the finish they promised, he probably would have sold a fair bit better.

having said that, I have to agree with all of you who are cautious. Unless you have some pressing need for this figure (he's the perfect MP for you, you love the gun mode SO much, or like me you just needed another unique Megatron) I wouldn't touch this guy. He's just not worth it.

This is the actual finished version that I decided on. With the extra detailing on the chest and stomach.

Hey who knows? A K.O. company might knock this figure off, and make it better XD

At least he bothered to transform it properly.:lol  This guy has been on my radar for all round favourite reviewer since his DX9 Gewalt review. Entertaining and informative guy. Truly loves what he does.

Watching Jobbys video, i saw this figure actually some decent engineering in terms of how it transforms. It looks like its held back by materials and QC, which is a shame.
At its core, it is a VERY nice looking megatron. Looks like Megatron from Escalation. I still would like very much to get this.

Shame this guy has so many QC and materials issues. Hopefully someone else takes up the gun-tank-robot Triple-changer concept for Megatron in the future. I kinda want a voyager-sized one for my CHUG collection.

    Definitely wasted opportunity here.

It has so much potential though...

Yeah, Boldforms really shit the bed with his constant cost-cutting measures.

They're showing that they just suck at making transforming figures.

But they don't, not really. It's the build quality that's the issue, not entirely the design. Yes, it's horrendously complex, but if it was better built, it would be a better figure and experience. Screws, pins, etc would go a long way to making the figure more solid and easier to manipulate.
