    You missed the point here.

Gundams won't have official toys at the same price point with bootlegs next to said bootlegs on the same shelf.

I AM SO ANGRY ABOUT TOYS AND RAAR HASBRO.

Get your IP out there at as many price points as possible. That's how you win the war.

These aren't terrible. They're just basic. And really, back when these were released as tiny tins, or even in the small packaging, I loved the heck outta the Aerialbots and combiner versions. It made collecting them fun.

When your friend has powermaster god ginrai with godbomber and you get the budget toy optimus prime.....

It is like when back in the day you get a gobot for Christmas and your friend gets a g1hoist....

These things are not the market hasbro should be aiming at.

It's 2018. Cost of materials, labor, competition, global markets...

If you're going to argue "it was a different time" then at least have a bit of self-awarness.

Because the 1980s aren't the 90s and neither are the 2010s.

Would you be more inclined to buy him if he were essentially stickerless?

I want him to display with the Cyber Battalion figures I have (and looks a lot better than CB Grimlock). I'm also hoping they'll do an upscaled Megatron and Starscream, since the CB version never made it to Walgreens.

To be honest, the 7" Starscream could be more in line with what most people were hoping from a voyager-scale seeker than the PotP version.

When I was a kid, I wanted an Optimus Prime. But he was $25, IIRC (that's $50 now in inflation terms). My parents never bought me one because of the price. Later on, they got me Ultra Magnus when they had a little bit more money. But my chance for Optimus came and went.

A few years later as a teen, I was excited to find G2 Combat Hero Optimus for $15 in Las Vegas. I didn't have the funds at the time to score one...but the fact that I knew he would eventually show up locally (and probably at a cheaper price point) had me excited as all get-out...I could finally own an OPTIMUS PRIME!

Now, there are sooooo many more opportunities to get an Optimus Prime these days. But the principle is the same...a kid who wants Optimus Prime but his minimum-wage parents shop at Dollar General knows that he/she'll probably never own TR POwermaster Optimus Prime. But a 4" Optimus for $5 or a 7" Optimus for $10? That can happen!

That PoTP thing is already outperformed by Cyber Battalion Screamer in terms of both look and transformation... So it's not like this Authentics mold upscaled could be much worse. :X

Half the price of a Legends figure. Hence the simplified nature.

I've hit about a dozen DG's over the last week and haven't seen these yet.
Just a matter of time, so I'm glad none of the stores are out of the way.

If you can\'t find them at Dollar General, try Family Dollar stores.  They are owned by the same company.

The FD across the street from where I work is FLOODED with the Legion-class reissue wave of Optimus, BB and SS. The new Authentics line isn't coming there for awhile....

Which can bite collectors in the butt too in a way. I've got a flipping awesome Deluxe scaled Victory Saber that can transform and combine to a deluxe victory leo thanks to Dollar store knockoffs.
Okay sure, it's brittle af, and the sword handle already broke partially. But it's still a neat figure with decent articulation.

These are made of hopefully sturdier materials compared to that. And are official. But I do hope since they are dollar store ones, they try to up the variety more. Kids going to dollar stores may want prime, bee, grimlock, starscream, soundwave, megatron, and shockwave, but they'll also buy obscures if it looks cool. Like that KO Victory Leo and Star Saber two pack shows as well as all the other random robot figures out there.
