Just to interject- generalizing the differences between collectors by bringing up whether people can afford to import is somewhat unfair and adds to the idea that Takara-only collectors are snobby.
I totally get it that for some the Takara figures are cheaper than Hasbro wherever they are located. On the other hand, people that have easy access to Hasbro and would need to import Takara for over twice the price aren't wrong in having a preference towards domestic.
Personally, I can afford to import what I want and feel is worth it, which is why I have LG Sixshot and Galvatron. The rest weren't important to me so I bought the equally good domestic releases and enjoy them just as much, with or without a few added paint details.
Basically, one release isn't 'better' than the other except to those buying them.

Yes there is. They're all over Facebook. They infest the third-party sub-forums. They're the bulk of the "Masterpiece" collectors - the same ones who don't want to collect beyond an assortment of characters from their childhood. There are plenty of these people around. And I'm not begrudging them. I'm just saying they exist, whether or not anyone likes it.

2-3 non-G1 lines? What are you talking about? We've had a movie line every two years or so (and every year from now on, it seems), we've had RID and Prime and Animated and... I mean, those are pretty much it in regards to non-G1 stuff for the past decade or so. Unless you're talking about licensed third-party stuff (which I don't see really counting, but okay), then maybe, but most toy lines are predominantly G1-focused.
And I'm not anti-G1 either because I very much love G1 stuff but I don't see what in the blazes you're referring to with your nonsensical ramblings.
"Every time, you make demands that you know will alienate us and then fail to step up when we tune out."
What are you going on about? There are barely any of these non-G1 products on the market to begin with, and the ones that are released either sell well because they're good or don't sell well because they're mediocre. There's not really much in-between.
"It gets old having promising lines snuffed out over and over and over."
And yet the only line I remember being well and truly snuffed out was Animated, and that was due to both a shitty movie and Cartoon Network being a shitty business (again). Pray tell, what are these G1-oriented lines which are being so drastically affected by non-G1 stuff all the time? Because last I checked, they didn't actually exist and you're just making up nonsense.
FYI, the niche in Transformers isn't G1. A niche is a specialised market segment. G1 is the predominant part of the Transformers brand no matter how you slice it. And sure, it makes sense - it was the original, and it influenced everything since then. It had a ton of characters, many of whom are still being dug up and brought back to life these days.

Remind me, what was the last Transformers reissue line that did really well (Encore aside, since that's Japan-only)?
G1 reissues were spotty, with some being dirt-cheap and being clearanced off, and some selling pretty well, but a lot of those were released some 20 years after the originals came out. The Beast Wars reissues you're talking about came out not even a decade after the series started, there had already been lots of reissues in the form of Universe and those weird Armada retools, and there was a brand new line drawing far more attention at the time (Classics).
Hell, the only reason the movie stuff has stopped selling is because it's flooding the shelves all the time and people are sick of it (and they're sick of the movies too, which keep getting worse and worse, even though I did think the last two were the best ones so far, but that's really not saying much). The audience for the movies has died off quite a bit. But when they first came out, that was big money for quite some years. As much as I hate to admit it, they're doing the Studio line to pander to fans of the movies back from when they were new and fresh because they know that'll help revive interest in the movie stuff. Too much of anything will eventually turn people off of a product, and that's what happened here with movie toys.

Clearly you don't read a lot around the boards because that's just the exact opposite of reality.

This thread is like going to the dentist. There's a point to going in the end, but it's mostly just pain.

You clearly don't even know what you're saying.

Save your pennies for that $250 raptor that Takara's betting the proverbial farm on. Or more shard monsters because Lord knows how those have been flying off shelves the last few years.

id buy a beast wars line but sadly I couldn't complete it due to being an arachnophobe and two of the best characters are spiders.

The MP41 boards are cooking like hotcakes. Lots of people interested. I’m not but that figure is looking solid. I can’t say I only collect G1 now since I bought Victorion.

Now knowing that Takara is not doing anything better for their line of toys is sad. I was hoping the Rodimus Leader figure would be good, but damn those shoulders are gutter trash. Sad really.

The mp41 is not that hot. You do realize that people dedicated to transformers, and to narrow it down "beast wars" are not going to fill Takara's pockets. They need wide retail sales of the figure. Now I guess they did their homework, yet the price is staggering and he is not that epic a character to justify a price like that on it. He is big I grant you, that said Takara Fort Max is cheaper... And a hell of a lot more iconic of a character. How much would a MP Rattrap cost? 100? while bumblebee went for 60. You see what is happening?

Must say in-box the Unicronus Rodimus or whatever he is named, looks decent. The colors make up for the lack in his transformation. What worries me the most is those tabs for the arms. They won't last forever. Then your figure becomes useless.

As for wave 2. I preordered Hun Gurr, Snarl, Sludge, and Rippersnapper. Leaders still not interested and disappointed. They just don't do it for me. Even though I am a big toy collector rather than a masterpiece guy. "I do have MPs just only those that I feel I want".
I really enjoy toy aspect of the figures I display. Rearranging them now and then. But they have to have a sense of either toy accuracy or animated accuracy. And the gimmick must be solid. If any of those 3 fails the toy goes down in grade for me.
The only border figure I got is Sky Lynx. He too sucks, both his torso and "dino-mode" are lacking and his scale is off. If they give us a wave 4 leader Sky Lynx I will buy him. This combining feature really lends to the idea of Sky Lynx. He would fit neatly amongst them.

Where is Unicronus available? True he’s got the same crappy shoulders, but his colors are sweet.

I order my stuff online. I think BBTS would have it? or Toykingdom? I am from the Netherlands so I order through dutch online stores like Archonia or tf-robots sometimes gerrutcamaro. Those are my 3 to go to sites. With Archonia often having the better price, has a point system so now and then I have a free legends figure. Their in stock is a bit slower but I can live with it saving 20 euros and the point system giving me a free legends every few months. tf-robots is the fastest with delivery and in stock. Also has more exclusive stuff. Gerrutcamaro has pre-orders and a little in stock while having more 2nd hand figures. Sometimes even rare stuff like the henkei/generations seekers. They went fast.

Finally, I would order through Kapowtoys in the UK. "they are still in the EU" Cost a bit more shipping but prices are sometimes better on older stuff on sale. Or having an exclusive nonavailable here. Then it sometimes is just as expensive.

I reckon you should look for an online store that gives you what you want and has good shipping options.

Btw I meant the pictures we have seen so far, his color scheme is 1 color for both the bodies. Meaning no color difference between arms, torso and lower body.

I also live in the Netherlands and can recommend all named shops. Though the Dutch shops are pretty expensive I think. It's usually cheaper to order the Takara stuff from Kapow. For instance Archonia charges 94,- euros's for Takara Sixshot, TFrobots 80,- and Kapow 59,-(pounds) which is probably around 68, euros. My experience is that from deluxe class onwards it's always much cheaper buying stuff from the UK, especially when you buy an entire wave. the Hasbro prices are pretty much the same though..

    True
True though i almost have enough points on archonia to get a free legends. So I placed my orders for the 2nd wave there.
Besides it is not always cheaper at kapow. But it is often faster.

I took the liberty to compare prices and I conclude that you have to make huge.orders to even get a slight saving comparing kapow with lets say archonia.

    Prices in euros.

Legends figures go for 13,96 at archonia while they are 14,78 at kapow. Thats a loss of almost a euro per figure.
Deluxes go for 22,99 at archonia while 21,60 at kapow.
Thats winning more than a euro per figure.
Voyagers go for 40,87 at archonia while 39,81 at kapow again a euro.
Leaders are 64,88 at archonia and 62,56 at kapow.
But then comes shipping. 4,99 at archonia while kapow it is 10,53. Both the cheapest shipping option.
Meaning if you buy all legends 3/4 figures you already need a lot of other figures to break even. You win 4 euros if you get all deluxes. Then another 2 euros for both Voyagers. Since this wave has 1 leader that is 2 euros.
You just break even. If you dont order everything you lose money.

You're right about the Hasbro releases, but for the Takara stuff Kapow is usually cheaper when you buy an entire wave. But I havent tried Archonia yet. Consider getting the Potp figures there.

True. Well the legends are cheaper there. Except the rereleases like skrapnel
