Tetrajets are a tough thing to pull off successfully as they're based on an 80s show/scene that really didn't care (rightly so) about if it worked as a toy.

The key is two solid forms with neither making sacrifices for the other.

I guess I'm weird but I'd actually prefer a tetra jet that looked like the cartoon in jet mode and redesigned the bot mode to accomodate it. Like, I have enough G1 Starscreams, I'm fine with "tetra jet that transforms into G1-esque Starscream Cybertron mode".

So this is an original design based on the g1 tetrajet much like war within was based on the cartoon?

I would have preferred another war within design, those seekers were awesome, plus MAAS bumblebee IS WAR WITHiN... and their cliffjumper certainly takes many cues from WW too...

These are a bit of a chin scratcher.
I may have to write the vehicle mode off completely and judge them just on the robot mode.
Compromise is usually a good thing but the combinations of Tetra-Jet, Cybertron Starscream, and War Within - makes them look like they tried to be all things to all men. tilting the wings down and thinning the cockpit and plending the intakes with the nose would have improved their tetra-jet and Warwithin comic like look. where as smoothing the sharp edges and making a more organic look would have made them more like an update of the Titanium 6" toys.

But I look at these and the only way I can make sense of them them in my mind is as a mid-way design step between those other things rather than as a representation of those other things - which isn't a bad idea in and of itself - it just isn't either arthur or Martha.

Which is perfectly fine if everything they plan to do is a blended design. I don't object in theory to the idea so long as there is some cross-consistancy.

So I'm curious how the Transformers War for Cybertron announcement will impact the MAAS Toys releases. Could it hurt their line because there will be similar official figures at a retail price point? Could it help the line because of increased interest in that style? Will MAAS focus more on cheaper figures to compete with Hasbro at that price point or will they focus more on higher end figures?

Maas product will be out sooner.
    If they are
well executed they will convince buyers who expect to be disapointed by
    official product.

Only recently discovered this project, and it looks very promising.

Considering how much jet is at the top of the robotmode, most notably the not-thin wings, I do hope there's enough counter balance in the legs.

Not really a CHUG collector, but also not really a MP collector. A mix and match to my own preferances. at 20 cm I could see myself be interested in a set, but I really do not need another set of core seekers or coneheads.

However, some cybertronian seekers would be great. And if they do Sunstorm, I hope they go for the Dreamwave deco.

These are one of the seeker sets I'm most interested in right now, the only nitpick is that the face sculpts are a little simple, but not bad. I just hope they don't go for shiny silver faces like so many companies, I hate how that washes out details. This set has some pretty nifty display options, the Galaxy Force-esque swords are a neat addition. Maketoys GF Starscream and his upcoming compatriots are on my list of figures to potentially pick up but these three are at a better scale for my collection, so I might end up seeing what happens with these over the summer in their stead.

Looks like these guys aren't CHUG nor MP scale. At 20cm, they are the typical MMC Reformatted size.

It depends how strictly you define it, but a lot of people consider Reformatted to be CHUG.

I would consider Reformatted, Cross Dimension, and Planet X figures to all be CHUG, even if the figures are a little bigger than Hasbro. CHUG doesn't really have exact scale like MP does anyway. I'd much rather have these figures scale with figures like the Spark Toys Alpha Pack and Sparticus and the larger size displays better.

I used to consider them IDW MP in its own scale, untill they started to think they could get three vastly different designs from a mold that suited neither character.

That prototype's looking good so far, and unlike a lot of seeker molds out there, the face sculpt looks great (as long as they don't paint it silver).

I really don't know how I feel about these. The robot mode is virtually identical to every other MP Seeker out there, so I'd need to see one standing next to, say, a Hasbro/Takara Voyager and an MP Seeker to get a real idea of size. If they're closer to MP size then I really don't see the point.
