Why do you have 2 MP-12's?

 

I can't wait for the day they make my Optimus from Armada (will never happen though cause the Masterpiece line might be gone by the time I'm into my 40's or 50's).

Disagree. Based on what’s been released this far, including movie AND Beast Wars, I think there’s a longer tail here. Does that mean we’ll get every character who appeared in the G1 cartoon? No, I don’t think so. BUT, I think there are still many great characters out there that will come. Reflector, Insecticons, Cyclonus, Scourge, Galvatron, etc. I think there’s still a LOT to work with there.

Awww, I mean, the ‘84 line is my dream but I love Star Saber so much that I’d def keep getting MP’s. Why limit?

The worst thing about TT’s delays in releasing G1 MP info are these “we’re not gonna live forever” threads.

 

To each their own. I prioritize any character from seasons 1 & 2 over anybody from after that point, but even still, I love the Insecticons and respect Reflector since he gets so overlooked. But I've always preferred the bad guys, no matter the source material, and the bad guys need their henchmen.

The FansToys Reflector really doesn't look too shabby, to be honest. But I'm still not quite there on 3P just yet. I really do want complete MP-level seasons 1-2 casts though, so it's probably gonna happen sometime. Unless TT gets on the ball, of course!

Well, thank you for the maximum effort! I too have nothing against Beast Wars, but nothing for it either. I like when sub-groups are animal-based (Dinobots, Insecticons, Predacons, etc.), they're some of my favorites in fact, but when they're all animals...I don't know, they lose that uniqueness they had amongst all the vehicles in G1, and it just doesn't interest me much. As for the Bayverse stuff: "If you've nothing nice to say..." Basically, if G1 MP ends, I'm done with MP. No malice or spite in that, just simple truth. So while I really hope you eat some serious crow in a few years' time after TT proves you so terribly wrong ( ), it does seem somewhat foolish to hold one's breath over it.

It's interesting that you think the sales base for G1 MPs is in fairly serious decline. Most seem to think it's going stronger than ever. In terms of the MPs themselves, at least. Yeah, the comics are down, no question, but comics sales in general have been seriously slipping the last few years. Look at Marvel. The MCU hasn't really translated into book sales. Guess the Bayverse maybe hasn't done much on that front either? Not sure, I don't pay much attention to the movie stuff. But after a couple years of ramped-up releases prior to the (G1) slowdown as of late, I too thought that was a sign of strength in the line. But what do I know?   That was what pushed me from years of lurking, to actual posting though, funny enough. Too bad we can't get our hands on real sales data...

I won't stop, but I'd rather it didn't take forever, either. 3P keeps looking more & more enticing...

Either my brother will take hold of all my stuff (TFs, Spider-Man, Batman), and add it to all of his stuff (GI Joe, Star Wars, more Spider-Man), or someone else from the family will rather stupidly toss everything into a dumpster seeing it as nothing more than "toy junk." Here's hoping for the former! Then again, here's hoping there's no need for either!

An official Reflector would be cool but for right now, we'll have to stick with our Spotters.

 

Yeah - I think Insecticons and Reflector are both very important, but there's several versions of both in third party land from quality manufacturers. I still want to see Takara do them too of course, but I feel the need for them a lot less because of third party.

 

Kind of sad when you think about it, we'll get a reveal for a transformer that wont release for 8-9 months and be overjoyed. Maybe thats why they schedule stuff like this where its nothing really to compete with MPM and BW, with hope they'll get some crossover appeal from anybody hungry for official mps.

Yes, I know. But like Rollo said, if you were to ask Takara if they thought their MP releases were coming a bit slow, they'd say they were coming faster and more numerous than ever.

See, that's my main fear. I hope I'll outlive my parents, but if I don't, woe to the poor Transformers collection. Best case scenario they truck it off to goodwill. (Can you imagine the haul somebody would have that day?)

Well, there could be an unknown release in August opposite Shadow Panther. And if so, it will absolutely get announced next month, as August will only be six months away. Thing is, that reveal-to-release period has been lengthening of late, so if there is something, it's likely to be either a repaint, or a "throwback" with a smaller parts count and less-impressive articulation, and we don't really want that anymore.

 

Well...I guess we know why ironhide isn’t an exclusive anymore: Toys R Us closing multiple US stores!

Wonder if we’ll see g1 MPs released at general retail as well.
