I think Chicago is an EXCELLENT choice. It's a great location (Rosemont is amazing), nice hotel, etc. It's close to the airport, too, so commuting shouldn't be too big a deal!

I'm in shock so many West Coast people came on to b*tch! :banghead:  Seriously? You had Botcon in CA for most of the last decade!!!! (thanks to Bay/Paramount & Hasbro's @$$-kissing :rolleyes2 ).

Worse? CA is its own botfest 365 days a year - you guys get ALL the new toys week/months before the rest of the country! COME ON!

Seriously, when TF fans in CA can complain about this? Wow.  I guess CA peeps have their own sense of entitlement. :(  (Like, how come it's no big deal to make people travel to CA, but coming to Chicago is groan-worthy? :sly: )

Isn't SDCC enough? You guys get HASBRO EXCLUSIVES!!! Come on...

I am a West Coast resident and has gone to every single TFcon USA except for this year due to unseen circumstances at the very last minute and several Botcons. The Pacific Northwest has zero major TF conventions so if I want to go to one, I have to fly no matter what and do not complain about it. When Botcon was around, they moved the convention around the country but they never touched the Pacific Northwest. In terms of this one, it will just depend on my finances and schedule.

I wish they'd have a TF convention in Atlanta, GA for once. ATL is a convention city.....the home of Dragon*Con.

ya plus a large portion of TF voice actors live in California, would make it easier for them, but if not in California, hopefully states such as Nevada, Arizona, Colorado. Many fans in Cali could even drive to those.

That sounds good and all but Those states are too far for the convention coordinators, who live in eastern Canada. It costs a lot of money for them to bring their equipment across the border.

A few questions for those that have been:
Is this generally a decent event? How engaging are the panels? Never been but considering going with my little one. Is dealers room at collector prices or are there deals to be scored?

    Thank you

Its a decent event. Pretty sizable, and you could score some pretty good deals. Not so sure how much children would enjoy it though.

i'm sure we all would if there was one more closer to us, but there hasn't been a Transformers convention in the Western region of the U.S. since BotCon 2014, which was held in Pasadena, sadly BotCon no longer exists. None in the California area or near the California area, western region, such as Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado.

Washington has Cybfest, which is a small 1 day convention, in Kent. It used be called Cybcon and held in Tacoma and started in 1997. Beyond that, there is not much.
