    Making Magic Spaces Safer

There was at least one guy that slipped through, but he's gone now, and they're going to start requiring background checks, so it seems that issue is over.

Cautiously optimistic about this, although as someone else said, the majority of new CCG's usually don't do so hot. Still, as long as it catches on with TF fans, it'd be cool to see impromptu games being set up at HasCon, TfCon, toy fairs, etc. And even tho the artwork is recycled from the mobile game, I am 100% ok with that as all of that artwork was epic as hell & the best part of that game.

Hoping its energon - resource based, combined with the classic Rank, Fire Power, Strength, Speed, Intelligence stats used on bio cards since forever.

Energon "points" should go towards weapon attacks, special attacks, and unique character abilities like Mirage's invisibility, dinobot fire breath, Blurr super speed attacks, combining, etc.

Transforming needs to either be resource free, or at least resource cheap. It is a Transformers game after all, switching modes should be easy & quick. The double sided character cards reminds me of the only CCG I ever played; an old obscure 90's werewolf based one called Rage.

Booster packs should be era orientated; imagine a Beast Wars pack, Animated, Prime, Movie verse, G1, Armada, Energon... An easy way to get all the different fans involved. If they play their cards right (ha, sorry) this could be a lot of fun.

Oversized cards sounds like a terrible idea. Card sleeves come in standard and small. There will be nothing to sleeve with.

I had missed that. Yeah, that doesn't sound great. I don't know why they don't just stick with the size of the cards they're packing in with Transformers (playing card sized).

I feel the best way to do this is having multiple eras in each booster set. That way, there's something for most fans in each set. No one has to wait for say Beast Wars because it wasn't in set 1. Just throw some/all season 1 characters in to acknowledge BW and address Transmetals later. Era-specific sets might not sell due to lack of interest depending on the material. I bet there are some who wouldn't be too excited for a Bayformers-only set but if Bayformers were included with series they do like, they have to put up with them over skipping a set entirely and Hasbro losing sales. They could probably get away with doing a G1-only set but only because it's G1.

There are specialty sleeves for board game cards and other unorthodox sizes but those cost more and even those are within playing card size. These are supposed to be bigger... Unless they want these cards to feel big in the hands of children which doesn't make any sense or the awesome art justifies bigger cards, playing card size is just fine. Wizards can't be this out of touch.

Yeah no thanks. I don't want any movie verse cards stanking up my deck, or Unicron trilogy either for that matter. I bet a lot of era specific purists would not want to invest at all if they know going into it that half the character cards they get are just going to wind up in the trash. All it would take is for me to buy one booster pack filled with nothing but mostly bayverse and UT cards to never buy another again. Perhaps era specific "starter boxes" along with booster packs would be a good compromise.

Since the artwork is from the mobile game, they already have G1 pretty much covered. If they made BW or WfC / FoC based packs, I'd probably go broke

Card sleeves for these card sizes are already being worked on, I wouldn't worry about it too much

It's just to be fair to all eras and the different fans. Plus it makes sense from a business standpoint. A standalone Energon set wouldn't even be worth making so those characters would never see the light of day in this game short of promo cards but then we get into the exclusive promo access problem if they turn out to be really good.

It comes down to personal preference as you can build your deck however you want but if you're going to deny a really good card for your deck just because it's from Bayformers, that's no way to play competitively if that becomes an option.

Both Power Rangers card games had to include multiple series because otherwise it'd take forever to cover all of them and one series can't fill up a set without tons of repeat characters. Even from the start a Power Rangers card game doesn't sound like something that'd last even one year. Lo and behold, the first game ended with one set and the second lucked out at four.

I've played lots of license-based games and it's in the nature of randomized card games that you're just not going to like every character/card in the set or every card in a pack you bought, but someone might. I imagine trading these cards will be a thing here so send them off for the cards from eras you do like.

    Update:

Christine Sprankle was quitting magic anyway to pursue a career as a CNA. She took a parting shot at Jeremy because he was firing shots at her on social media due to her Patreon account for Cosplaying. He felt that young players were spending their money on her Patreon in an effort to win her favor. Sure, Jeremy is an asshole with a big mouth, but there is no way on earth that his actions deserved a lifetime ban. WOTC contracts the event judging to DCI, so they are guilty by association with all of the pedo judges being exposed (and consequently WOTC tried to hide their attendance at events after being exposed by Jeremy and supporters - and were caught in the act of hiding the judges).

I'm going to be honest, if I bought a couple of packs filled with movie-verse, I'd quit on principle. For some of us the movie-verse represents a continuing insult.

I know Weiss Schwarz does sets based on its various properties, so players who only want Attack on Titan for example can just buy AOT-themed packs and decks.
But I wonder if the various TF continuities have enough of a fanbase for something like that.

Considering it will be going up against Pokemon, Yugi-oh, and WotC's own MtG, yeah. I don't see this TF CCG going far game-wise. TF collectors however ...

Even if the game sucked or failed down the road, they make a FoC/WfC packs I'd be 100% in.

I wouldn\'t mind a movie pack with characters from 1-5. That would be fun to collect alongside their G1 counterparts.

I have no problem with eras I dislike being included, as long as they're sold seperately, like I said. Even if I hate a certain era, I know there's a legion of fans out there who embrace it.

Plus I would relish the chance to crush a Bayformer deck Devestator with a G1 deck Devy ;D

Seeing a TF Prime centered deck vs a Beast Wars deck would be a lot of fun, and so on. Honestly they'd be silly not to divide it all up and do it this way. It would give the game some legs to hopefully keep it going longer, and more sales

I've dabbled in collectible card games before, namely the old Decipher version of Star Wars and the short lived Marvel Vs. game..........both of those series had sets/packs that were of either different groups (marvel vs had marvel knights, a FF4 set, xmen, etc) and/or movies (like star wars with their hoth, dagobah, cloud city sets), so they could easily do that for TF with G1 stuff, Beast Wars, etc.

Regardless of what they end up doing, this topic is highly anticipated on my end and I look forward to see what they have in store, especially (and ive said it before), if the card art work is based off of TF: Legends

If it were just G1/IDW I'd be okay with it. But odds are it'll be a mix of Bay and TF: Prime designs which I tend to hate.

    Pass!

A smarter idea is to do Beast Wars/Machines, G1/2, Armada, etc. as separate boosters, and see what sells.

That's not how business works. Don't see what sells. Attempt to cram everything into the same niche, make people "choose" everything or nothing, and pretend the concept failed when it doesn't sell because nobody wants everything all at once.

That sounds like the FFG model of Living Card Games, where the packs aren’t randomized. I’d be all over a TF LCG, but that’s unfortunately not the way WotC usually works.
