I love love love Inferno.
His beautiful red paint is to die for! His chrome is perfect. His stocky build perfectly mimics his onscreen appearance yet he's got more articulation than most MPs before him. He pulls off the kneeling pose like a boss and his transformation gives his shoulders butterfly joints for even more posing fun!

Oh, and his transformation is magic too! YAY!

 

I'm still floored by this figure. The folding of parts that's pulled off in order to eliminate the backpack is a stroke of sheer genius. More so than any other MP figure before or since he looks like he jumped straight out of the TV. I'm not much of a fan of inferno or his look but this toy is so smart I kinda want it just on that basis alone.

Similar to the MP-14+ Red Alert, this new MP-12+ anime version of the Sideswipe mold is definitely a better looking figure in bot mode. However, if you display your MP collection in alt mode, then the original is far better.

So it all comes down to how you want it displayed in your collection. For me, I always have the core characters in bot mode, so MP-12+ will stand with the others.

I caved and bought a repaint I don't really need. All to photo archive the packaging, card and coin..  

 

Not at all. I still haven't stopped playing with the figure. I will disassemble mine when I get the chance, file the post down and put some JB Weld Plastic Bonder on the broken side. That stuff is magic. Some unfortunate design decision isn't going to make him less awesome, just more fragile.

Sounds like you took one for the team on this one. I think the set is worth it for the Steeljaw mold and the evidence that they can put out a real Steeljaw and wow us with a MP Blaster. Nice pictures.
