Why is it that Hasbro seems unwilling to go all in on making regular class 13 figures? Beyond a couple oddballs in Vector from a 10+ year old toyline and the recent TR A3, there has been none. Now with them being rellegated to prime masters, my hopes are low.

Don't forget The Fallen. He had toys in ROTF and UnRiD.

Because what kid cares? Half of them don't have alt modes, most of them change designs on the whim of the art team, and they're all in the ancient past. Plus the roster changes most of the time.

The Fallen had a Titanium figure first, personally I count Logos Prime as one of them. So, there are options out there, plus there's always repurposing.

Right, forgot about those Fallen. But I am talking strictly for Generations.

I was curious so I tried to think up who's gotten toys so far (not counting the Prime Masters)

-Alpha Trion has his TR figure, along with the Botcon exclusive
-Nexus Prime was also a Botcon exclusive combiner
-Prima was *technically* given a toy--a repurposed Protoform Optimus from the first movie
-The Fallen has had multiple toys, from Titanium to ROTF to RID
-Vector Prime had a toy in Cybertron, and I use his Safeguard Minicon as Micronus but that's a personal canon thing more than anything
-Logos Prime, if you count him, was a repaint of Cybertron Soundwave
-Optimus Prime, if you consider him The Thirteenth/Arisen Prime, has gotten a toy or two over the years

We do have a good handful, but they're from lines with wildly different aesthetics and some are very hard to acquire. There are plenty others that you could repurpose too. But that being said, at this point I kind of doubt they'd all get full sized figures. At the very least, Power of the Primes brings them to the forefront and gives them more exposure, so that helps.

Honestly that shouldn't be too much of a problem considering the 13 primes are supposed to be wildly different from one another and are the ones that spawned all the different types of Transformers that exist in "present" day.

You mean what adult collector cares.
A kid might buy them if they are cool toys and get a bit of promotion.

Potp was the perfect line and time to give them full figures. Ah well.

I think it'd be better if they get toys sprinkled in various lines.
Nexus Prime for example should get a toy in potp.
Micronus could be a legend class toy in any line. Or perhaps a mini-con or Micromaster when they do that.

Hasbro's John Warden shot down the idea of them getting toys pretty thoroughly using the excuse that they are "hard to imagine." Yes, someone from the design team straight up didn't want to do their job.

I've expressed my disdain for the lack of toys for the Primes plenty of times.

What bothers me the most is definitely that they have introduced these characters into the lore of a franchise that heavily lays into toys and not just that, was born from toys yet they aren't getting toys. They aren't getting toys even though there is a toy line named after them.

It's such a waste. Not only do they not get played with to their full potential, kids don't even get a way to play with them. The Primes can easily get purchases from children. In fact, I would count on it most from them. The Primes are fairly consistently referenced in the cartoons. Prime went as far as showing their artifacts and even one of their arms. RID took it a step further and had one as an antagonist with the others as Optimus's mentors. While I think they could have done the plot better in those, it is hard to deny that they have a presence.

They even had foreshadowing in Titans Return. One can argue they didn't even need any more push, but if they did it wouldn't be difficult at all. Hell, how many kids have bought Quake — a character that hasn't had exposure in their lifetime — just because it looked cool or some other form of appeal completely independent of knowing who he was? Give the Primes a good look, they will have no trouble selling unless they get trapped in repack/restock hell like so many unfortunate toys.

So, there's pretty much no reason that they aren't getting full toys other than laziness.
Indeed. I just don't want to be dead before they finish them. And seriously, I can't be too sure that I will last too long. I think they should go about releasing a decent chunk of them per line, at least. Three per line would take four, so maybe four per line? Or more than that.

I like to point out that they missed a huge opportunity for a Solus Prime in Power of the Primes. They have a larger female mold right there, and nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oh, and Onyx. There's two large beast molds so far. I guess it remains to be seen if Micronus will get released in his canon green in one of those special releases like Blast Off...

Considering I can't even remember who half of them are without a cheat sheet or a checklist, I can see why it's hard to imagine full sized versions.

Anyway I can see Vector Prime getting redone in Generations sometime, though, but only because he was an actual toy from the Unicron Trilogy, but someone like Liege Maximo not so much.

They are official designers from Hasbro whom would be assigned individual ones to design and probably would have a checklist. This is their job. They are not exactly some random guy on the net.

And the "hard to imagine" line comes only from a design perspective (again, their job), not from a memory perspective. They tried to pass them off as "more like spirits"... as if spirits swing giant hammers around or have their corpses desecrated by Megatron. In fact, one can speculate that the designers are biased because they did veto working toy designs for Prima and Megatronus under the grounds of being "too obscure"... when late G1 Overlord and Sixshot get days in the limelight.

I would say Maximo is probably one of the most likely, simply because he has had a pretty consistent set of traits (green, large horns) and has been an antagonist in two comic series.

I'd rather get Quintessons before old, dead Prime character toys. Yeah, we're getting them through Pretenders...and that's fine by me because I'm just displaying them as THE Pretenders, ignoring the whole "13 Primes" globbedy-gook.

Logos and amalgamous can be the same guy considering both are shape shifters and thanks to the titans return show and a “3pko” the jai qi rook based figure is almost a dead ringer for megatronus from the machinima show

Nobody cares because they were not in the cartoon.

    There, I said it.

Don’t speak for everyone, Sunbow g1 is not the pinnacle of the franchise

I know, but a considerable portion of the fandom does have this position. :)

Just like some people outright refuse to read the Marvel or IDW comics just because they deviate from the sacred cartoon.

Those people are insane :p  there’s so much good stuff outside of the cartoon (granted I’ve yet to get into marvel g1, but that’s more due to sourcing all of it)

I think if you go outside the fandom there would be more people would be more familiar with the cartoon than anything else. Even to the point where they don't know about anything post season 2.
