I see you got your franchise quarterback too. What do you think the 49ers will do in the offseason?

At this point, I think the NFC championship and AFC championship games are coin flips. I don't see anything that says it should go one way or the other.

The Pats giving 9 is a bit much in my opinion. I may need to actually place a bet if that number goes any higher.

Also, I wouldn't touch the Eagles game, but it is a bit ridiculous they are getting 3.5 points in that one. I would have favored the Eagles here, but maybe Vegas wants people to bet Eagles.

Yeah, looks like the Niners got a steal with that 2nd round pick. Most Niners fans want to empty that piggy bank that the Niners have on Free Agents this off-season I would rather wait and see what we get out of next years draft. Maybe when we are close to winning the division then go fill in the holes with FA's.

Currently pay Jimmy what ever he wants and maybe look in FA for a stud on the defensive line or offensive line to help build around, as Joe Staley will not be around after next year is my guess.

That sounds like a solid plan. They have to keep Jimmy or else they are gonna go back to being horrible in a hurry.

Plus the 49ers don't really know all the talent they have since so many have been injured.

I know that, I think we ended the season with 23 players on IR.

The most pressing concerns for the Niners are solidifying the O-line for depth and to keep JG upright, getting a pass rushing defensive lineman and one more corner. They may look to get another LB in the draft because Foster seems to be injury prone and constantly getting in trouble with the law is starting to become a pattern a la Aldon Smith. This latest weed incident marks the 3rd ruin-in with authorities in his short career.

I'm not sure if they'll bring back Hyde, but decent RB's are a dime a dozen these days.

Garcon coming back healthy will be a great help, but he's a possession-type receiver. Goodwin has established himself as a decent #2, but we could use some more speed on the outside to stretch the defense. Not sure if Bourne or Taylor will step up next year to fill that role. I think they'll acquire another FA veteran receiver for that spot. Bryant from the Steelers would be great, but he's another problem child that can't keep his nose clean.

The Steelers finally let Todd Haley go! That should have happened years ago. The guy overthinks plays too much like he wants to look like the biggest genius in the world if things work out. The offense stumbles whenever he’s calling the plays unlike when Ben runs the no huddle, and Haley has been surviving solely off of the talent on the field.

So Atlanta keeps their OC and the Steelers fire theirs?

That makes sense in some backwards world.

He wasn’t fired (though he should have been a while ago) as his contract was up.

I get the frustrations Atlanta has with Sark, but they should keep in mind that it took a year for Shanahan’s system to really kick into gear. Granted, I also saw Sark make way worse mistakes, and his seat should feel a little warm going into this year considering the talent they have too.

Yeah, for me, the stagering amount of talent severly under performed this year. They really under performed whenever facing a good D. I forgot they were under a new system this year, so I guess he should have another year.

But I would say that Atlanta and the Steelers have comprable talent and Atlanta has a better defense.

The goal line play calling was some of the worst play calling I have seen. It literally reminded me of the shit years with the Giants.

As soon as Matt Ryan started to run to the right side of the field I knew we won the game. Personally I hate that play calling as it limits what you can do on the field.

I knew that too. That play call only works if you have a mobile quarterback who poses a threat of running it in to try and make the Corner/Safety leave his coverage. If not, then yeah he can just run it in himself. It’s an offensive coordinator’s job to call plays that fit the offensive players he has instead of trying to mold them into something else. You wouldn’t call the same plays you run for Michael Vick if Peyton Manning is your quarterback and vice versa. Worse yet, they ran the rollout to the short side of the field; condensing the already tight windows even more

I was watching the local news last night, and they were talking about the conference championship games of course before they did a special piece on the Vikings. Apparently, one of the Vikings offensive line coaches used to live about 30 minutes away from me, so it looks like I have another reason to cheer for them the rest of the way.
