I'm beginning to believe there's only like one or two guys creating these episodes. Modelling, animation, special effects, music...everything.

Good thing Clone Wars show didn't follow that logic.

Or Netflix Voltron.

 

I'm with the many who say this was overall a SLIGHT improvement over CW, but I'm likewise with the many who say that's not saying much, and it could've been so much more.

Starscream and Trypticon were wasted, everything was drawn out and stretched for no other reason than to pad for time. The plot, dialogue, and character development was amateur at best. Still no combiners combining, Titan Masters doing their thing, and lifeless cities and backgrounds. The stop motion commercials had action scenes that were twice as good as anything displayed here.

I'm fairly certain most of us here could write a more coherent and exciting TF story.

 

Odd ending, so what happened to starscream. He want back into trypticon then died?

Honestly it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either.

So, in retrospect, I liked this better than Combiner Wars, but it still LACKED story. It had good ideas, but it was all so superficial because the episodes are too short. They could have put the story of all episodes into one or two 20 minute episodes and it would feel better. Having watched 10 episodes and the only thing that happened was some bots dying, some bad looking polygons getting trampled by Trypticon, and the big bad showing up. So while nothing really happened, it ended on a cliffhanger for the next "series". Also I did not like the toy accuracy. Trypticons head hanging off his alt mode in the back visible like that... if the toy can't do it better, that is one thing, but the animation looking exactly like the toys? That's Energon level of bad. Although Energon looked better. The framerate was too low and CHOPPY, the environment wasn't really detailled. Even the Lego movie looked more detailed and everything was literally just bricks!   Overall it looked like a test render you would make to have a look if everything is OK before you start a complete and detailled render which is more time consuming. The low framerate even supports it. Maybe someone always renders this with the wrong settings?  

I would really like to love this, but it is just OK. And this could have been really better, but it definitely lacks in presentation and some of the voice artists, like Mistress of Flame voice their stuff like if they don't know in what situation their characters are when they should be saying their lines.

I really am sad that there are actually interesting ideas in these stories, but it is just so shallow that I can't really get excited about this.

And I have a bad feeling that this is probably better than the new Cyberverse show that we're getting...

Also one thing that MANY modern shows lack: Catchy tunes.

 

Pretty good episode but once again it gets good and boom they cut it off. Man someone needs to tell them that this cutting off b.s. at the end does nothing but tick me off. So since the final episode aired now, how long is it going to be now till we see what happens next.

 

If so, then it would be well done.   Regarding the circumstances. I would even pity the guys for having to do that. Maybe it was even only one guy who got the CAD files from Hasbro to animate them. Would explain a lot.

Well, I still would not be happy with the result, as this is no fan project, but an official product. But I would word my criticism different.

Direction notes.

More action. Translation: Glowy effects. Same animation hurky jerk.

Better dialog. Translation: Great VAs, terrible lines.

Make more edgy. Translation: Make Megatron Curse Again.

Give every character a purpose. Translation: Slam them all in and give them one line a piece.

Can we please allow Machinima to purchase a better Packard Bell?

Otherwise, better than Combiner Wars.

 

I was sort of half watching this episode, by why didn't anyone dope slap Perceptor?

 

Because perceptor saved them from trypticon

 

Wasn't the act of eating the Matrix the catalyst for releasing Megatronus?

 

No idea on that, megatronus merely appeared after trypticon ejected the enigma and the matrix and starscream, they likely would have all been killed by trypticon if perceptor hadn’t done what he did, plus the matrix told him to do it

 

I see, I see. I was under the impression that the merging of the Matrix with Trypticon/Starscream was what brought about Megatronus. So all this time I was thinking, why isn't anyone saying anything to Perceptor?


I also want to mention that I like Overlord's personality. I'm about to watch Masterforce, so we'll see. And I also like that he seems to be an agent of Unicron.

 

My understanding is megatronus merely took advantage of them being in the same place
