It is good engineering but hardly original. Mp01 and mp10 both did the same thing. Pretty cool to see it in a legends figure though.

I still want to see the back of robot mode and I wanna see the truck.

 

I mean, I'm not bashing the figure... but the front wheel setup is nothing new... we've seen it on MPs, Hybrid OP, and that crappy Ultimate Battle Optimus.

 

Look at the notch in the bottom of his open cheat doors. Think his and grill folds in behind the windows for truck mode? That'd make the bar in the top middle of his abs part of its hinge.

 

Ok so not so original or new then, sorry. If you have seen his type of transformation before then you might have a better sense of his transformation. It looks like he has his bumper taking up much his back. I would be happy if he just had some molding of his back design even if there were holes...

There is something on his back in this picture however. Is it something stuck on? Partforming? Backpack?

 

Hm. Good eye. This is why I wish they'd just show it already. Stop making us guess and just show it from all angles and in both modes.

 

As the back behind the head appears and disappears, I'm wondering if a part broke, or they are still printing out pieces of the proto.

 

Partforming wouldnt even really be that big a deal at this price and size if it makes for a good figure. We get the trailer, so any bot-mode parts can hang out in there.

 

I honestly don't mind it a bit with their Ratchet and Ironhide. Ratchet you can make a repair but out of his roof, so that's a plus.

 

Got some bad news... not that its flat on the back.
But literally the back is hollow as hell.
See the gap between the matrix, it goes right through to the back wall. Mech Planet sure are cheap figures but their backs are all crap.
Soundwave on the other hand has a nice decent back, but so far the rest are all pretty bad..

 

Didn’t G1 Ratchet have something like that?

 

We already knew about that open spot, but yeah

I wouldn't mind seeing the other head sculpt. This head sculpt is quite good except it is alittle overly growly - anglular eyeborow shapes on the helmet.

Wouldn't mind seeing this. If they tweak the eye area less sunken and maybe touch smaller, near perfect.

 

I think I'm sold on bot mode now. That's majestic.

After all this build up, truck mode better be good.

 

Just give it to me already. My legends Autobots need a proper Optimus to lead them.

 

I like to pretend the truck mode matters, but I have picked up all their other figures and at their prices I am going to pick up this guy too. The new shots look like he has enough articulation to achieve some nice dynamic poses.

 

Is there any word on when this is due out?
