If they are fixing a gap between hip, then it is a buy from me. other than that I think is almost perfect.
From side view it is not bother me so much but on a direct front view I know it is very bug me. like a leg is separated from body or upper torso and lower part are from different bot mesh up together.
And I know there is DX9 is coming..... cause what they do always surprise me lately, - like they know what your expectation from them, but they do more than your imagination (a lot) lately.

Man this looks great. I love love LOVE the mechamonkey design so much more than the 90's CG organic look of traditional Primal. It's a little bigger than I'd prefer but I'll still check it out. FH makes some solid stuff.

Maybe some front hips skirts could fix that issue. As long as his hips still get a full range of motion, then I'll be happy.

Oh sweet like Beast Machines Megatron was. I always wished for a toy of that design back in 1999. I have the toy that's the dragon and haa the Cape around it in Megatron robot mode, but it lacks what the design was, which was a bunch of cables connected to a computer base. I would be happy with the design you just showed me too. Which is awesome and if that tackle that design more power to GT/UT. I can see what you mean about it being difficult then again look what UT is doing with the movie franchise.

Beast Wars holds up amazingly well so long as you can of course accept the mid 90s era animation for what it is. I've rewatched it in its entirety a few times over the years.

Gorilla Warfare still amazingly bad ass, Code of Hero still makes you wanna cry and without a doubt still the best Megatron to end all Megatrons. Scott Mcneil playing four characters, sometimes in the same scene, still amazing. Show wouldn't have been what it was without the writers and actors it had, still remains the pinnacle in both respects of the franchise. Oh how I wish an actual spiritual successor could happen but that would essentially require Hasbro re-dedicating themselves exclusively to beast-bots again and fuck knows that'll never happen again sigh.

Ah well least we got more lovely mps n 3ps on the way.

All that said, doesn't really have anything to do with the future of these toy designs as I suspect we likely won't be seeing any more beast wars characters from them. The best designs besides primal are all the re-imagined g1 doods after all.

I remember the first time I saw that ep. I was genuinely shocked that they killed off such a great character. It was like a punch in the gut.

They did so because his toy got discontinued and hasbro, at the time, said he wasn't getting another. Then of course while planning season 3 they went and made a transmetal dinobot.

That's part of why tdino in season 3 feels so random and shoehorned in to the story out of nowhere and why they had to use the evil clone plot device to justify him haha. Which is still funny because he was cloned using Rampages spark and Rampage was already a mutant clone of Starscream.

So in a round about way both Rampage and TDinobot are "Starscream" in Beast Wars.

This is why we really need a nice voyager starscream to put next to a transmetal dinobot and rampage eventually. Literally soul brothers. :lol

Man, I don't think I've ever been so on/off with a figure. Sometimes I really like it, and other times I don't.
But I've spent too much recently, so I guess that makes my decision for me. At least for now.

I didn't realize that was why. That's weird because they never incorporated Terrorsaur's TM model and wrote him off the show even though he got a new toy. And yeah, TM2 Dinobot story always seemed kind of shoehorned in, almost like he was an afterthought.

Rampage was a mutant clone of SS? I don't think I ever knew that.

He wasn't a mutant clone per se, he was more or less a failed experiment trying to replicate Starscream's immortal spark, or something to that effect. Of course how anyone even knew that Starscream was "immortal" is beyond me, unless it was just assumed after his "ghostly" appearance in season three.

Airrazor, Inferno and Rhinox all had Transmetal toys too. Mainframe guys didn't care about updating everyone and were given free reign to retain some of their older animation models. If you listen to the commentary they talk about how they loved their Rhinox animation model so much they never wanted to replace him for example. Never mind the mountains and mountains of other beast wars characters that exclusively showed up in the comics or japanese series like Razorbeast or B'boom or Retrax.

Hasbro actually wanted to kill off Waspinator. But the show writers pointed out how Waspinator was such a fan favourite character and much needed comic relief, so he was saved.
