Separating the Optimus bits off Orion, and playing around with Lego and the two figures, has really led to me having a lot of enjoyment over the past couple of days with this toy.

Anyway, I made a gun turret thing with light-our-darkest-hour Matrix bling:

 

That's rad, do you have to have the lego mods in place to do that?

Well, to be fair Fort Max plastered it on the back wall of his office.

 

Okay, l don't want to come off spammy but here9a little run down on how l did this. We will refer to each bot as Grimlock 1 (G1) and Grimlock 2 (G2) (see what l did there lol)

Okay so NO mods are done to G1, simply get him into torso mode but rather than plug in the Volcanicus thighs in as per usual, swing them around back and plug them into the Grimlock plugs like this:

Okay, now for G2.
I forgot to take a pic, but the FIRST step is to pull his arms off at the bicep swivel mushroom pegs and swap the arms (this actually doesn't ruin Grimlock mode as you would think, unscrewing and swapping the fists would make it very acceptable to keep in this orientation in my opinion).
Okay, now the majority of the modding involves punching the pin out that holds Volcanicus' head and the red flaps and removing those parts. Then judiciously cutting the black cage. You want to remove the front and sides but leaving enough for structural integrity.
Here's a pic of mine:

Back shot in dino mode, hollowy but acceptable to me. Bot mode looks fine and not noticeable (save for the aforementioned arm swap):

Okay time to merge G1 with G2!
Step 1: clip the newly made cage clip onto tge back of G1 (note the relief that allows G1 crotch to fit in)

Step 2: join G1 and G2 forearms together by pushing peg in hole and hole in peg on EACH forearm group (each forearm has a hole and peg so the result is double pegged chest on each side):

Last step is to swing G2's waist and Vocanicus thighs down and around and plug into G1 as you would normally plug in his legs!

I'm abit slow here but I'm looking for a fan mode to enhance my UW Computron further. I've seen some good ones in this thread for both Superion & Menasor with Boardies adding on a 6th member onto the gestalt mode so I'm playing with that idea.

Anyone able to show some of their pictures if you boys had figured out & done so?
