Sounds cool for the Japanese fans who wanted to check out the Marvel comics. :)  Would be sweet if IDW decides to give us translated versions of some of the TF manga they have over in Japan.

Cool. Given how big marvel is over there, this might the boost TF might need to be somewhat big again.

I've actually lost sleep wondering whether or not non-English speakers could read TF comics. Thank Primus.

Also, are they doing only the US issues? Or are they going to include the UK issues? I know they're doing the covers but that still might not mean they're doing those either.

I mean, we have sites that translate manga so it would make sense there would be site over there for comics.

I had considered that, but it's hard enough finding decent quality UK G1 scans on sites of it's own language. Either way now it's gonna get published officially so, yeah, gonna sleep easy tonight. or tomorrow, rather.

The comics were released in Dutch in the Netherlands when I was a kid. I'm sure they had them in most other Western European countries too :)

This is wonderful news for Japanese fans. Hope they'll be popular and more issues will see release!

Unfortunately this will probably be based on IDW's horrendous "restoration" of the Marvel comics. I mean, it's still worth it to read since most of the Marvel US art wasn't really much to write home about, but it is still a bummer.

Now if they want to repay the favour and send over some translations of the countless untranslated manga series they have over there, I certainly wouldn’t complain.

They do published Japanese language versions of the IDW comics. I've seen 'em at my local Japanese bookstore.

That's why online reviewer such as Wotafa is already familiar with IDW characters whenever he does review of IDW based TF toys.

Also recently I went to Europe, visited Italy. Most of the TF paperback collections are in Italian.

Also, you could have read them 30+ years before they will get them.

LOL I wonder if they will alter the layouts to Japanese standards or leave them as they were originally. Similar to manga books, a page at the back of the book with a message "STOP!!!!! You're at the wrong end. Go to what you think of the end and read backwards!!!"

What is supposed to be happening on that cover? Giant Op is crushing a seeker in his hand and getting shot at by a gobot Gears?
