Anyone interested in this (or not)?

I know that a cell shaded KO MP-10 is listed (I think), this one is quite eye catching (or as the saying goes: "You can't polish a pile of turd anymore than it already is  ).

Edit: I think I saw some paint chips while watching this review (as it might be a pre-production sample).

 

No kidding. I agree, but put those seeker clones right at the front of the list. Rainmakers are cool (and yes Redwing definitely would be cool). By mid-warp Skywarp, if you mean just a clear purple Skywarp I'll pass. But I once saw a picture of a real bad ass custom that was done like the mmc sphinx turning invisible exclusive, that would be the shit.

 

It looks better than I expected... but... I have so Many Starscreams.
Every KO company I speak with is experimenting with Cel shading. It's very frustrating....
I'm not sure anybody really asked for it, well.. at least no more than their other unreleased seeker colours.

 

Looks cool but I think I would've liked to see a battle damaged SS in oversize.

 

Honestly just looks like a bad camo paint job to me...

 

Hmm... tiger stripe Starscream. Not for me.

Well, so long as there isn't a long line of cell shaded figures on the horizon before new characters then I suppose I can wait this fad out.

You know, it looks like the whole figure is painted. A clean version of a fully painted figure I might consider.

Edit: no... paint chips. Just move on to new characters soon.

 

Does anyone know if the Coronation gear that comes with the KBB seekers will work on the official HasTak seekers?

Cause I need a v2 skywarp...my hasbro v2 starscream needs coronation gear. Looks like a cheap way to hit two birds with one stone. lol

So I don't know if it is a common issue or mine had a bad batch, but I got a KBB skywarp a few months ago...

The plastic felt and still feels "nice" to touch, but it seems doomed to crumble apart over time.
Like everywhere is breaking with no force. I've glued what I can but it is pretty much going to be untransformable.

Broken areas include.. the circle-slots that hold his null rays
The shoulders from the set fell apart.
the wing hinges that flip it up from plane to robot (both the hinge plastic, and the plastic on the wing itself holding the pin).
the side waist flaps.
Crack lines appearing in every hinged place that didn't crack yet.
It is basically crumbling to dust. I put him back to display in robot mode with much glue... but he is probably going to stay like that.

It sucks because I also have KBB mp10v and it is amazing and feels very solid.

 

KBB quality simply isn't as good as Yes Model/BB7 quality.

 

Oh that's scary to hear, as I have their original trio of Seekers as well... (SS, SW, & TC)

 

I got lucky, my seller managed to get me my replacement part for my YM Dirge.
To my surprise the part is connected to the frame. Time for some surgery.

 

just sent tf-direct an email to see if they know whats happening with hotlink.... if it don't happen its either i do one myself or pay someone to do it for me , the latter would be the better option i take ages to finish stuff if i do at all , still got my nova storm to finish must be 2 years ago i started that

Has anyone else had the issue with the KBB seekers crumbling over time? Now I cant decide. lol

I kinda wish one of these guys had put out just the coronation set for people that got the hasbro scream.

And with this, my MP Coneheads are done. Thank you Yes Model, all 3 Coneheads for the price of 1 and a third of an official TT Conehead. You can’t argue with that.

 

If anyone is going to make Masterpiece figures of the seekers that remained on Cybertron, it might be nice to see some organization out there do a truly "Masterpiece" version of the pyramid style Cybertronian Tetra-jets.

The Impossible Toys versions are admirable attempts, but quite simply do not seem to achieve the "Masterpiece" aesthetic.



If Nacelle, Acid Storm, etc... remained on Cybertron, it makes little sense that these guys would ever transform into F-15 fighter jets, since Telatraan One was responsible for re-constituting the transformation of those who crashed into Earth some 4 million years ago.







They need to achieve the standard seeker body type in robot mode, at approximately 8.5 inches tall with the common torso (e.g. MP-11; MP-03; MT Meteor), but with sometimes visible wings, sometimes absent wings, and appropriate accessories such as the flame-thrower from Episode 1.

And in alt-mode... they need to look like these...



I know some organization out there can achieve this... it's just a matter of time and demand.

Given some of the recent innovations that Wei Jiang recently made with their KO Oversized Megatron, there may be a KO organization out there that makes the leap to creating 3P designs based on previous Takara skeletons and frameworks... but it would likely fall to an organization such as Maketoys or X-Transbots to see such a vision realized!
