I tried watching it Sunday night but didn't even make it through the first hour because it was so unbelievably terrible. They took the greatest Christmas movie ever and completely destroyed it. Easily one of the worst shows I've ever seen on TV.

Gremlins - GOd damn the Noir Gremlin during the bar scene was freaking hilarious! Stripe was down right badass too! Yeah, this was my first time watching this movie and I highly enjoyed it. It was fun and interesting. I don't see why WB feels the need to remake it when this movie works just fine. Although, I'm surprised with what they got away with for being PG, but then, it was the 80s and things weren't as restrictive back then when it came to kids movies as they didn't treat children like they were stupid idiots as they do today. Another interesting thing was seeing Jonathan Banks with hair. WOW! The story was good, the characters were interesting, although, shouldn't the Gremlins have multiplied by just being in the snow? Or does it have to be gallons of water? I'm confused because one little dab on Gizmo was enough to spawn 5 Gremllins, but snow does nothing? Well whatever, it was still a great movie despite its flaws. I give it a 9/10.

    Zodiac - 8/10

It's in the same vein as Spotlight - amazing movie where nothing fucking happens. Granted a LOT more happens in Zodiac but it's still two and a half hours of people talking about evidence and theories. That being said it compels you and pulls you in heavy to the story and you're just as invested as Graysmith. Not so sure I like the idea of the movie HEAVILY leaning on the idea that Leigh was the killer as he was never proven but so much of the evidence points to thim, and I suppose at the end it's still up in the air as to who it is. I'm glad I saw it, but I doubt I'll watch it again, just because two and a half hours is a LONG time for a movie that's 87% dialogue.

I saw ads for that and figured it would be terrible. I avoided it at all costs. Looks like it was a good call.

The Last Jedi 9.5/10 (would be a ten except the Finn plotline was kinda unnecessary and the guy they were sent after should have been Lando Calrissian damn it!)

The Last Jedi, and 7.5/10. Snoke and Phasma were criminally underused as characters, but that's just me being critical. The Canto Bight arc could have been downplayed a bit, but overall the movie was a very nice addition to the Star Wars saga.

    The Greatest Showman.

Better than Star Wars. Great story, great music, great, memorable characters, fantastic visuals.

    8 out of 10.

We planned to go see Darkest Hour tonight, but apparently every theater around us that is showing it put it in their smallest theater, and all showings for the entire weekend are sold out. -_-

So we went to see Jumanji 2 instead.

I went in with extremely low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. This sequel was funny, it didn't take itself too seriously. the video game meta humor is spot on, and most of all, Jack Black and Karen Gillan stole the show. It's no where near the greatest movie of the year, and it's pretty by the numbers, but it was entertaining and worth seeing on the big screen. I'm going to give it an 8/10.

    Good Time - 9/10

This movie is everything I wanted it to be, and I only hate that it ended. Robert Pattinson has finally buried Edward Cullen, and delivers one of his best performances ever in this movie. I loved everything - the seedy New York underbelly, the cinematography, the music especially - everything about this movie is like they went into my brain to deliver the exact aesthetic I wanted. I guess that makes me biased but fuck you its my opinion. See this movie now.

There were things I enjoyed, but I would never sit through this movie again.

Wind River - I loved Hell or High Water a lot when I saw it earlier this year, so I went in with high expectations and am happy to say it managed to exceed them. Between the two, I would probably say Water is the better movie, but god damn was this a fantastic thriller that was excellently paced, has some great snappy dialog, sets a tone that it keeps throughout its entirety, and the acting is superb. Not only that, but it was interesting to see a movie that takes place on a reservation as it didn't sugar coat the feelings Native Americans have with "white men." Very well told and gripping. Also, who knew that an Olsen could actually act? Even more stunning! I'm going to give this one a 10/10 and it is most likely going to be on my top 10 list. Oh yeah, it is funny that this movie has Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Punisher in it.

    Gremlins (1984) - 8/10

Yes! Now there's a Christmas Classic. The best Christmas movie with little green monsters. With their nihilistic abandon, there's something liberating and appealing about actually being a Gremlin.

My favorite Joe Dante film alongside The Howling.

The movie is violent too, Mrs Peltzer goes full Jason Voorhees on a Gremlin.

Love seeing Roger Corman veteran Dick Miller appear as Murray Futterman.

I always thought Phoebe Cates was a great looking actress even when I was a little kid. She really is very cute.

Rewatchers of the movie should keep an eye out for Mike from Breaking Bad in an earlier role as a cop.
