I can’t get over the lack of side windows in Bumblebee’s alt mode. There’s cheap, and then there’s cheap.

I find it really strange that Megatron/Starscream have elbow and knee joints, while Optimus and Bumblebee don't. You'd think would want to spend more money designing the latter,

I can\'t wait for the KO versions to come out with better articulation, paint and at a cheaper price.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a little confused by people's reactions to these things. It's not like they're replacing the Generations toys, or are even what to expect from the Cyberverse line. If anything, they are replacements for the One-Step changers. I posted a recent One Step here for comparisons sakes.

It's not inferior. In a way, it's actually superior to them. Sure, you may not like the One-Step changers... But as hard as it is to believe, people DO buy them. (Okay, NOT the Last Knight one steps. No one's buying those guys apparently.) And rumors have it these guys are going to run around $5. (But I'm willing to but more toward $8-9.) And for a toy that's the size of the smaller Generation Deluxes from a few years back? Especially compared to a One-Step changer? That's almost as inexpensive as the Ramhorn or the Sawback Titan Masters? That's pretty dang awesome, I think.

It's not like they're going to flood the shelves and keep Generations and whatever else from restocking. They're going to be mainly available in in smaller stores, like Walgreens, Dollar General and the line. it's basically a harmless toy that allows lower income kids to have a Transformer.

And as a fan who likes doing the occasional kitbashing and painting of his toys... I can see a LOT of customizing fans having a LOT of fun with that Starscream.

If anything, I'm surprised that Screamer and Megatron are so much more intricate than Bumblebee and Optimus. You'd expect the opposite.

My guess? They're a later design. I'm thinking Prime and 'Bee were designed first, and then those guys second. And from what we've seen of Grimlock, I'd say that Prime and 'Bee are the exceptions and not the norm.

They're crappy toys. Everything else you said doesn't excuse how crappy they are.

Aren't these meant for little kids? So what if they don't have articulation?

    Don't like them, don't buy!

Unless you are a compulsive completist. Then I have no words of help.

I know, right? They retail for $5, cheaper than even the Legends pricepoint when those were out (they were $6).

They're custom fodder. At this price point even if one f**** up something with the custom, it doesn't matter that much.

What makes you believe these will "replace" anything?

First, the story was that these were ONLY for Dollar Stores or Big Lots. But now Amazon looks to carry em!
So now what? There's absolute certainty that other shops won't follow suit? :rolleyes2

My money is on Hasbro putting these up on shelves NEXT to the 1-steps. So when stores run behind on PotP wave 3, you can look forward to these arriving in droves! :lol  No joke, it's their current M.O.: get as many simple toys on shelves as possible.

The big problem is Hasbro prioritizing these things and further bottlenecking the Generations supply chain. Sometimes I feel like a lot of 1steps sell because fans are not finding anything else in stores...

It's fascinating how rustled people are that these exist.

These are just dedicated molding at the intricacy of an upscaled Legion that's gonna replace the legion class repaints of the EXACT SAME VANILLA G1 characters that are currently on shelves in places like Dollar General, Big Lots, etc.

Personally I probably won't bother with them but that's only because I don't have the real estate for another specified assortment. I do have a bookshelf that's got a few of those old legions, some kreons, etc that don't have a place in the display proper so maybe I'll plop one of these there someday. Certainly won't actually look for one. One will find me, this I know.

For 2 dollars they'd be acceptable.

Amazon also sells the Cyber Battalion line, and just look at how many of those figures are absolutely clogging the pegs where GOOD figures belong!
Oh wait, they are NO WHERE except Walgreens.
    My bad.

2 dollars? Holy crap, I've seen KO's here for £10 that are not as good looking as the Prime and Megs

They'll clog up the shelves at the budget stores and work as pocket money TFs. There's no need for adult collectors to pick one of them unless you need a custom fodder, unless you're a completionist in need of the every mold of the character ever produced.
I'll probably do all the Seeker color variants and G2 Megatron and that's all for what they're useful to me.

But only if I can find them anywhere in EU at the retail price. Because Cyber Battalions weren't easy to find here at all.
