Damn, Starscream's hips do not lie.

For real though, I think these look cool. I like the super-stylized look and I could see myself getting one or two if the price is decent. I mean, their fully assembled figures look awesome too but they are way, waaaaaaay too rich for my blood.

PE Leonidas was definitely inspired by the likes of Sentinel and Bandai, and also took cues from the T Beast design.

Being non transforming isn't bad as a toy.

Don't forget that Transformers character are defined by their robot modes first. Their alt mode could be anything and even imitted in some comics. Bot modes are on the cover of all tiys and comic book issues. Even the Sunbow animation pilot had volkswagen bot bumblebee transform into the cybertronian saucer.

    Transformers are shapeshifters in universe.

I guess the line between the preferences of toys is wherher we recognise them as robot characters first or transforming toys for 80s toy nostalgia sake.

IDW had billions of renditions of our classic G1 characters in robot and Alt mode. We have grown to recognise a rendition of Optimus Prime hot even without the need to acknowledge an Alt mode. After all, Cybertronians were not transformables at some point in time.

TRANSFORMERD ARE ROBOTS FIRST just as Macross VFs are Fighter planes first.

A non transforming primary mode still sells.

I'd bite, but I get the inclination that either the price, poseability, or both will destroy any interest.

Model kit plastic isn't going to help though as we already have the G-Creation pre-built model kits.

Optimus is alright skinny, but definitely skinny. Starscream's legs are too slim. These are definitely ultra stylised to Amemiya's style. Pat Lee's Dreamwave style was more modern American comic like.

Kuro Kara Kuri's approach is much better.

My problem with these is how much nicer the art is than the kits themselves. Optimus looks overly skinny when you compare him to the artwork, especially the arms

Wow, they are super robot as all get out. Except for Bumblebee. Considering G1 robot designs usually ignore the dumpy toy and cheat his car roof into a proper chest, this is an outright diss from someone who clearly hates the Bee. Okay, I'm being a little facisious, the sense of thickness is less pronounced on the grey prototype, but it's still thickness that stands out weirdly next to the others.

Real talk; it's weird I'm not more into of this class of things. I like cool robot toys that don't transform just fine. You'd think a transformer with an exotic spin and emphasis on robot mode would count as just a cool robot toy, right? I mean, the price certainly never helped, but a few of these I really did think "that is so cool" and then kept walking without wanting it ever coming to mind.

Hm. I like Bumblebee. If I get any of these it would be the Bee.

I dig these but there\'s something feminine about Starscream and Optimus to me. Maybe it\'s the hips and waist or the whole torso? Still digging it.

Anyone have any idea how much these guys are going to cost? They look pretty simple, but Transformers models can go for crazy prices for what you're getting..

I kinda like those, but I don't see any articulation on them. Doesn't look like they have any working joints.

I've probably said it here before, but Trigger seriously needs to make a TF Anime at some point.

There are not enough like buttons in the world to like this idea… Imagine a "Gurren Lagann" styled TF series where the Transformers arms race just EXPLODES in size from episode to episode. THEN Unicron would be a fitting 'final boss', where Op and Megs have to finally put their differences aside and merge with Metroplex (OP) and Trypticon (Megs) and then BOTH combine with Cybertron itself to awaken Primus!

    ....... I just did a fangirl "squee!"....

Hell yes. I'm gonna wait until they show up at the comic book store I'm close to. Their prices for model kits are more reasonable in my opinion. How tall is this guy? Around deluxe?

Looks fantastic and I still want it but that price seems a bit steep. If it's the engineering level and size of a Master Grade Gundam though... yeah, I'll probably bite.
