    YouTube (Legacy):
I believe he's saying "reboot" as bringing something new to the franchise rather than an actual do-over.

Why does this have a thread, of course he will say its good. At least he's not as dumb as Shia LaBeouf to say that his movie sucked (Thats what he said about the Indian Jones movie he did)

Doesn't matter, the mere mention of that word in any official capacity is enough to scare people at this point.

Which means it needs to be said more often.

This is worthless posturing. All that they're REALLY saying is that should the movie do well, they will make more. :rolleyes2  I don't know about you guys, but I was waiting for someone in Hollywood to confirm that successful movies get similar (in style) sequels! :D

That makes sense! :thumb  I also believe he's saying "wonderful" as something that is completely horrible! :lol

Well considering what has been said about this film, how the idea of this basically takes a baseball bat to the timeline\'s kneecaps and how clearly they\'re aiming for a sort of hybrid of G1 and the Bayverse? I\'d kind of expect it to be a small reboot in some ways. However, I do think they don\'t mean it in the sense that it\'s going to be a major reboot where continuity is being wiped and whatnot. I think they\'re making it into a soft reboot in that while the film is connected to the others in a way? This is kind of going to make a clean slate and show where we\'re going from here which I\'m all for. If anything? I\'m glad we\'re getting that because TLK to me was the worst of the bunch and I say that even as a fan of these movies and overall? I\'m sick of Bay\'s directing style and I\'m yearning for something new. People speak about how they didn\'t like The Force Awakens because it was a soft reboot that took from a previous movie? They have not seen the Transformers movies and how tiring they can be. With this? I have a little hope.

I'm willing to bet that John Cena's character is going to slaughter just as many Decepticons as Bumblebee in this spinoff. Which is why I hate these films so much in the first place.

I prefer humans being useful and doing something than just sort of watching/getting themselves into trouble/having to be rescued.

And this probably won't be well-liked, but a lot of the instances of humans killing Decepticons had some good drama and character moments in the first movie. Skorponok had to be brought down with an air-strike (and still wasn't killed). Lennox avenged all the deaths at the Qatar base and in that village by killing Blackout (which would have felt a lot more hollow if Ironhide gave him a headshot or something). Frenzy was killed by the "nerds", if you will, the people doing stuff in the background, but definitely aren't fighters. And finally Brawl's death was because of Mikeala's previously established knowledge of cars and hot-wiring them, as well as being able to drive backwards, careening past rubble, blind (I doubt she could see much with BB un the way, even with side-view mirrors), and smooth enough for Bumblebee to score the fatal headshot. Sam killing Megatron was a part of his journey. The stuff before this he's always been able to talk his way out of a problematic situation. But Megatron proves he's someone he can't talk to, can't reason with. Plus, if the Allspark would kill Optimus, why not try and do it to ol' Megsy instead?

...that's literally every single film when it comes to humanity in general.

And he does not appear for the rest of the film after that regardless. Not to mention, Transformers are never seen to be that resilient to Earth weaponry ever again even in the context of the first film, as your next example demonstrated.

(And in the next film, a single air strike kills a dozen Decepticons!)

As cool as that sequence was...all Lennox did was blow up Blackout's crotch with some typical grenades. It's not really explained how that managed to kill Blackout besides him just kneeling and falling over like a sack of bricks.

No, that Frenzy killing himself with his own weapon by accident, that death doesn't count.

Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on the "smoothly" part given that was a standard tow truck which aren't designed to handle like race cars, especially in reverse (they're more power and torque over handling, obviously). And that wasn't a headshot! It hit him around the neck/collarbone area but his head was still attached and intact when he died.

That's the only legit human-kill on a transformer and even then, it wasn't Sam's original plan - Optimus mentions committing suicide by shoving it into his chest so often that the idea that would work on Megatron is kinda obvious.

And the next film completely erased that kill anyway.

I read this news post as the Bumblebee movie getting rebooted before it's even released. That's gotta be like the fastest reboot ever.

I'd be okay if Humans killed one Transformer, if it took great length, unduplicatable circumstances and immediately airlifted the body to a secret facility for examination and we got to see specific parts taken out of abdominal cavity (not believable in the Bayverse due to random jagged parts cluttering the entire body). Transformation cogs, innermost Energon, spark casing, etc. That would be interesting.

I can hear him...but I can’t see him. What in the Zeus’ butthole is happening?!?

In all seriousness, I’ve taken the films for what they are but between the diarrhea train that is Bumbler tv and TLK soiling itself at the box office I find it hard to get excited about anything TF related. Even the comics have gotten stale.

The only thing keeping my interest is 3rd party offerings and that doesn’t fill me with much. I don’t know if anyone else has feeling that with the overall brand recently, or I’m aging out on the direction of things.
