You know my 70 year old father STILL watches the westerns he grew up on, I don’t see it being any different.

This thread is stupid, are you trying to tell people not to buy toys?

Edit: This is clearly a troll thread, the OP never even responded, can an Admin delete this worthless thread?

Maybe the OP is one of those scalpers mentioned in the other thread and his plan was to discourage us from buying stuff at retail so he could buy them all by himself and flip them for a profit?

And in case you forgot, TFW2005 is not at all representative of the larger demographic for Transformers.

Ok ? Then why post such a comment here ? We all know toys are for kids. But we are collectors.

How many 6-8 y/o kids do you know are sophisticated enough to register for account and post in a coherent manner on these boards? Also, isn't signing up as a kid against the TOS?

Really? So there are a bunch of 6-8 years olds on this site looking for the latest info on figures? What evidence do you have to support that statement? I highly doubt that is the case

Aside from the obvious fact that the Generations line is aimed at collectors more than children, it's worth pointing out that the only people who know POTP is hitting shelves are people who frequent the forums. Kids aren't missing out on anything because they don't know that they're out.

Kids would much rather have figures of the characters they see in the films or on RID than someone like Beachcomber, anyway. Who the hell is Beachcomber to an 8 year old?

I don't understand this thread. It feels like it's just an opportunity to feel falsely noble.

Kids are never even seeing the cool generations figures because all of us adults buy them and leave the shelves empty. Font should be somewhere between blue and black because there is an element of truth

Yeah, but what makes a toy "cool"? Design? Character? A lot of the Generations figures are only appealing because of media that 99% of kids wouldn't have been exposed to. If this was about the TLK figures, I'd understand it more. And the characters that are more appealing to a wider market always have additional stock. Bumblebee is never going to be short-packed.

    Nonsense.
A lot of the generations toys are only appealing to fans because of cartoons they half watch.
Kids play with toys that look cool, they don't care about the fiction.
Most kids get their parents to buy Triggerhappy on sight.

I would agree with that. Honestly, even now a lot of my TF purchases are based on how cool a toy looks/is rather than fiction

I don't care about fiction. I only care about what was G1 and what wasn't. So there's that. I make an exception here and there for something cool but other than that I just worry about keeping my collection as true to G1 as I can.
